I have played the original game for the Gameboy back in the day and bought it on the 3DS when it came out for virtual console. I have always liked playing the game but never finished it. Now with this release of the game for the Switch, it made me want to fully complete it more than ever.
Plays pretty much the same as the original with some slight tweaks. The game looks gorgeous with the new art style used and makes replaying this game feel more unique. It is not a super long game but it doesn't need to be. This one of the best 2d Zelda games behind A Link between Worlds and a Link to the Past. (though I have not played it yet)
I highly recommend the game for anyone that loves The Legend of Zelda and I recommend the game as well for anyone that hasn't played a Zelda game.
Remake of one of the best handheld games ever made

It is a remake of one of the best handheld games ever made. It runs a little crap on the Switch 1. I hear it runs better on the Switch 2 with resolution upgrades and HDR support. Regardless, it is one of my most loved Switch games.

Every title they bring to the new switch is a welcome one, but this one is an exception. Tastefully updated and remastered, they've brought a simple gameboy game into a new console perfectly. If only Nintendo would see the light and bring the full library of titles to bear on the new mobile console platform, they could really carve out a chunk of market share. Alas, some of their greatest titles are still trapped on the WiiU platform.
If you enjoy Zelda games, or have never played one, this is the game for beginners and enthusiasts alike.

My 8 year old is absolutely enthralled with this game. The graphics and the world are beautiful. I as an adult don’t quite understand the purpose of the game, but my son does and is very entertained. We have had it for several weeks and still has not gotten to an ending and is still very novel. There is one beast/character that my son got stuck on and was very frustrated with. However, after some research, we realized he did not HAVE to face the beast and felt much better.

I absolutely love it. I played the original and DX version, and while this game essentially the exact same game, the slight changes and graphics made this an awesome experience! Best Buy made my experience as easy as can be.

What a fun Zelda game!! The only big downside is that it felt like it ended just as it was starting up. I beat the game in a little over 5 hours of gameplay. It was fun, just very short-lived. Definitely not a game I'd spend full price on. Get it when it is <$40, granted it ever got that low.

As a fan who recently lost his game boy saves from the battery dieing... This is a great way to replay it. It feels almost exactly like it did before but with a cute 3D art style.
You could almost say it's... Dreamlike.
For newcomers. It's likely the strangest Zelda ever made. With so many Mario enemies present in places it's definitely still surreal. And it's well worth the 60 dollars.
If you lamented not getting a classic Zelda with breath of the wild in 2017...
This is just what the doctor ordered.
