Oot and majoras mask were probably my two favorites Zelda games. Just like ocarina of time, I think this is a solid remake. It has updated graphics and some new features that make it more conve on the 3ds, but it does not take away the classic feeling of the game. That being said I do agree that if you have a Wii u and a 3ds you might as well get the virtual console version because yes it is more or less the same thing. That is why I think they did the remake for the 3ds. It does not have the option for a virtual console version. If you have a 3ds only I recommend it for new players and veterans.

I'm gonna be honest here: I played the original Majora's Mask back when it came out on the Nintendo 64 and it was one of my most memorable games I've ever played in my childhood alongside Ocarina of Time. This would eventually move on to me buying the games for the Wii Virtual Console and eventually the 3DS versions. I'll give my impression of the 3DS version of Majora's Mask below. --> Grezzo and Nintendo both outdid themselves in this remaster of the original Nintendo 64 game made 15 years ago at the day of release. While a lot of the original mechanics from the N64 game did port over to the 3DS game, they did change some parts of it to make it a bit more challenging and/or rewarding as well. An example includes the extra bottle you can acquire at the end of the game (I did 100% the game) compared to the N64 version, which had one less bottle at the final moment. I loved replaying through the entire game in the full remastered version once again, however I will be listing some problems the game has that may turn some newcomers off. --> The 3 day time limit. If you're coming from Ocarina of Time or some other game that doesn't utilize this 3 day limit, you may find yourself intimidated at first. However, once you learn how to slow down time, you find yourself having more time to accomplish some of the game's many side-quests. If you don't like the 3 day time limit, then it's understandable as I had it grow on me while playing the game many times during my childhood as well as in the Wii virtual console later on as well. --> Another problem with this game that some may find annoying is in the Song of Time mechanic itself. The reason why I say this is that while it's an essential part of Majora's Mask, it's also one of the most tedious because you do end up losing stock of your entire inventory and have to play the song many times over if you wish to 100% the game as well (or even playing through the main story). While I enjoyed finishing each part of the quest, I did find it tedious to constantly play the Song of Time over and over again. It got to the point where I could literally play the song really quickly without stopping now. I guess muscle memory is a thing with this game. :P --> The overall boss battles: I loved replaying the bosses in this game, but it's clear that the overall difficulty was much harder on the original N64 version. The examples come from Odolwa and Goht. They did improve on Gyorg and Twinmold, but the overall difficulty of the bosses were much easier because of having the eyes exposing the weaknesses instead of finding them out for yourself. Don't get me wrong: these bosses can still provide a challenge if you're new to the game, but this is coming from someone who has played Legend of Zelda games for most of his life. Now despite these flaws, I still LOVE the game to death because of all the collectibles along with the overall story. I would happily recommend this to anyone who wants to give this a try and isn't daunted by the 3 day time limit. While my review sounds very harsh, this comes out of love for the game itself and the franchise. I'm not saying it as a way to deter anyone from buying it, but rather as a way to point out that this game isn't perfect, but it's VERY enjoyable once you get into it. :)

This is a great addition to the Zelda series and is a must play for any fan of Ocarina of Time. I was never able to beat this on the N64 so I'm glad it's been released again so I could give it another go. While it may not be the most popular Zelda game out there, it's well worth your time to play through it

Even though this is not a new zelda game and doesn't really bring anything new to the table, the 3d and new hd remake makes the whole experience feel new again. Not everything is the same as the original which gives a good twist when you think you know the game inside and out... Must own for any zelda fans

I grew up playing NES, SNES and N64. I love the Legend of Zelda series. This was such a great game on the N64 platform. To play it again is great. The graphics are significantly improved and look awesome. Gameplay is just as I remember. If you are a fan of LoZ games or action/puzzle games, get it now!

This game was a perfect copy of the original that I played in the days of the Nintendo 64. Although there's nothing really new, it's a welcomed time machine and the gameplay still holds up a decade or more since it's original inception. Highly recommended to new or old fans of the Zelda series !!!

It's been a while since I played this game, and I was surprised that I still loved it after all this time. It's very much a Zelda game, but there is a lot about it that is incredibly unique. I haven't experience anything else like it. I would recommend it to anyone who never had the chance to play it.

Since I had never had the chance to play the original N64 version, I jumped at the chance to play this classic, and in full 3-D no less. The game definitely holds up to the hype, and brings a game more than a decade old seamlessly into the present. It's as if someone at Nintendo owns a Master Sword...

Was a huge fan of the original game for N64 - and was pleased to see this re-released for Nintendo 3DS. I don't have the new 3DS, but the game still works flawlessly - and am thoroughly enjoying my play through right now. If you haven't yet - give it a shot. It is one of my favorites in the series!

Majoras Mask was a game that I could not get into as a child. It was too tough and too demanding. Now as an adult I was given the chance to try again and my gosh this game is great! Legend of Zelda has always been my favorite franchise and now I get why this game was considered a cult classic.

I absolutely loved the original N64 version and the remake does it justice. I am still upset about the fact my preorder for the Majora's Mask 3DSXL system was cancelled when plenty of scalpers were able to keep their orders safely tucked away. That; however, does not conclude to the game itself.

I originally had this game on the Gamecube when I was a kid and I never got really far. Now I'm kind of glad I never beat it because it would diminish from how fun the game plays and how great it looks now on the 3ds. Definitely a game you should play if you haven't before and are a Zelda fan.

I absolutely love this remake for the 3ds and the different things they added. The 3D graphics definitely tops it of. If you've played the original I'm am pretty sure you will be satisfied with this game and if you haven't the guide definitely helps to get a full experience of the game.

This game has been really fun. I only have a few hours into it but if you played the N64 one this definitely brings back memories. I feel like a lot of it has been redone in the sense that it feels like a new game yet it still has the feel of the old one. Definitely worth the purchase.

Note : I played on the new 3ds system The new addition of the thumbstick really helps this game out. the 3d is not distracting and in fact really helps to bring the game to a new level. I never got to play this title originally so it was a wonderful experience. Would recommend.

Just another wonderful installment of Majora's Mask, except this time you can play it on the go! It looks and sounds amazing and is a super-faithful adaptation of the original. I felt the nostalgia rush over me when I played this one. You can't go wrong with a Zelda game. Get it!

To me, this is the most stressful of the Zelda games, simply for the fact of being timed. There have been a few changes between consoles. Still a great game. Love how you can stop the main story line and take time to explore the side quests if you're getting burnt out or anything.

A fantastic classic N64 game that has been remastered to perfection! While some may think Ocarina of Time is better than Majora's Mask, it really doesn't matter because both games are fantastic! Get and enjoy both! This game looks and feels great with my "NEW" Nintendo 3DS XL

I love Majora's Mask and always have. This version is fantastic and looks beautiful. I love the updated graphics and smoother gameplay. I would recommend this title to anyone who was a fan of the original or those looking for a fun yet challenging addition to their game library.

I was able to snag one of the Majora Mask new 3ds systems and this game certainly was a top priority. It does not disappoint. Wish I could have gotten a hold of the limited edition, but even without all the extras, this game is one of the best Zelda games in recent history.
