It's been a while since the WiiU has been released and it's nice to have a "new" Zelda to play. Any fan of the series will love playing this and appreciate the near decade since its initial release and enjoy it all over again with plenty of "I think 'that' was over here..." moments.

Missing Game

The game was missing from the box. Not all that surprising since the box had previously been opened and was in really bad shape. Can't blame the mail carrier b/c other items in package are fine. The only way an item leaves like this is due to incompetence and/or lack of oversight. Recommend buying in person.

Its been a long time since I played the original release of this game on the Wii. This HD upgrade has upgraded graphics that are pleasing to the eyes. The controls have translated well, and are more comfortable then the original wii-mote controls. The game itself is fun, the puzzles and dungeons very enjoyable. The story may not be the greatest, and the dialog can be annoying at times, but at its core the game is great fun.

I've playing this game for a couple of weeks. It is great. The graphics are beautiful. Many of sceneries look alive. The dungeons each have their own unique idea that makes them feel different from one another. The wolf Link amiibo is one of the nicest amiibos that I have seen. I highly recommend this game to any wii u owners. It has been one the best games that I have played on the wii u.

As an amiibo collector i must say this is the finest looking amiibo i own and feels of high quality. overall a great buy

Greener on this side. List of changes

Instead of reviewing the core experience presented 10 years ago (2006 original release) I'll just going to give you the list of observable changes to the game:
Visuals up first, there's a noticeable difference. The grass is greener, higher resolution, revamped textures, detailed changes in polygonal models/objects, and addition of lighting effects which makes the world look less of a drab and pops out more than the original
Hero mode: enemies do twice the damage (4x if you use Ganondorf amiibo)
In terms of link's hand placement: Gamecube version on Normal (left-handed), mirrored wii version on hero mode
Loading times are a lot faster, maybe 1-2 secs faster for every screen transition. Which doesn't sound like much, but definitely adds up
Treasure boxes remain open, once you open them.
Custom miiverse stamps in hidden treasure chests
New lantern item: Poe's lantern makes it easier to hunt down poes. You carry it around the world map and it glows whenever a poe is within close proximity. You still have to wait till night time (in game) to see them
Amiibo support:
Link and Toon Link restore arrows
Zelda and Shiek: restore hearts
Ganandorf: 2x damage
Link, Toon link, Zelda and Shiek is only 1 per day (resets at midnight everyday), while Ganandorf has unlimited use and can be toggled on or off
Wolf link amiibo (only available with retail limited edition version of game):
Once you reach a certain point of the game, you can scan in the wolf link amiibo to access the Cave of Shadows where you battle a gauntlet of enemies level-by-level like the cave or ordeals, but you only play as wolf link.
You are not able to go through all levels in your first go as there are level gates until you defeat the next dungeon boss in the main campaign
Gamepad Control:
Option to play off screen
Gamepad allows for inventory screen/map display
Easily access items and equips, easily swap items in and out without having to pause the game
Change link to wolf form with a simple button press instead of talking to midna, which saves a second which will add up in the long run
New motion controls and aiming your weapon like in Wind Waker HD
Note: you cannot play with wii remote and nunchuck, only optional pro controller
In terms of presentation of the physical copy: I'm very impressed. The front of the box has a nice metallic glow to it and the box art is simply beautiful. I wish they included a poster of the box art so I can display it on my wall. The Wolf Link amiibo is also very detailed and has a nice weight to it compared to other amiibos I've owned
Overall surely the definitive version of the game. You'll play through the same game, but with better visuals, easier controls, and faster loading times.

Great HD Remake! Not many changes, but the improved visuals really make a difference. Some of the best dungeons from the series are found here, though I still wish the over world felt less empty. The Wolf Link amiibo is well made, and the extra challenge pit you can play with Wolf Link is a nice bonus.

This is a great game that I also played on the Wii. But the controls are much improved, and that was my big frustration with the original. It's not the best looking game around, but it's certainly a big step up from the original. And the game itself is just fantastic. Highly recommended.

As a Nintendo fan, I feel incredibly lucky to get this HD remake. This Zelda game is my favorite offering from the franchise and this remake is truly a masterpiece. The amiibo figurine is especially cool as well!

This game was "good" on GameCube and Wii, but great on Wii U. Graphics are obviously much improved with higher detail on characters, enemies, and textures although some environments like the canyon still have too many unnaturally sharp angles and the camera can still get into an angle that causes clipping. Control is much improved with the touchscreen, particularly switching between wolf and human forms which you have to do often and wasn't as easily accomplished in the original version. Many of the treasure chests have been replaced with Miiverse stamps, balancing the game a little bit (too many rupees in original) and providing a new challenge to treasure hunting perfectionists. The Wolf Link and Midna Amiibo is highly detailed and a nice throw-in - it lets you access a new, special dungeon, but otherwise doesn't offer much. Plus it's huge for an Amiibo - about twice the size of most.

This game for the WiiU is better than the Wii version because the controls feel less awkward and has better graphics. Also, with having LOZ amiibo compatibility, Ganandorf allows you to bring the difficulty up above Hero mode.

This is a wonderful update to a classic Zelda adventure. The graphical improvements are much appreciated, and it's never controlled better. I thought I would ignore the amiibo support, but I found it was useful to tap my Zelda amiibo to restore health if I didn't feel like hunting around for pots to break or grass to slice. The additional Cave of Shadows is quite dull - I was hoping for an extra dungeon, instead it's a series of combat encounters as the Wolf with no puzzles to solve.

Return to Hyrule in Beautiful HD

Twilight Princess was always one of my favorite Zelda games, but that's not why I'm giving it five stars; I gave it five stars because that's what this Zelda title deserves. With touch pad controls and motion aiming, it makes new players able to adjust as this game can be quite challenging at times. It's 50 hour story mode is brilliant and dark, and it's side quests will keep you busy for days.
An HD remake, it's beautiful and well done, though I did notice when on horseback, the bottom of the TV the grass goes... bad. I don't know how to explain this but it hurts my eyes a bit. This happens when playing just on the Gamepad too. Other than that, it's a masterpiece.

Zelda Twilight Remaster!

I love The Legend of Zelda Twilight princess, one of my favorite game in the series because of its really dark tone, and it's gameplay, one of the darkest zelda just second to Majoras Mask, and the graphics are great, and now better with full HD, something that was not available with the original released. If you missed this game back then, then it's a great chance now to play a better version of it with HD and Amiibo support, works only with any of the Zelda Amiibo, so if you have any of the Zelda Amiibos it will unlock something cool during gameplay. If you are looking for a great adventure experience look no further, buy it! Zelda Twilight Princess!
