Disney is remaking its classic movies mostly to make money. Some have been pretty good. This is an excellent retelling although does not bring that much new to the original. I was happy I did not take my 5 year old grand daughter to the theater to see it because the live action version of the harsh scenes like the stampede or the final fight were intense. As an adult I loved it.

The steel book is gorgeous. The color is rich on the cover and inside. Grew up watching the animated version and already watch the live version at least a thousand times. Love the CGI. Only bad thing I have to say is that it’s 99 percent of the animated film. Nothing new at all but the CGI is so real that you kind of wonder if the nature movies are real or not, you just can’t tell.

Wonderful family theme movie. with strong emotional content about the meaning of life. In addition this product is of very high digital quality, as always Bestbuy has accustomed us to distribute only the best of high technology. I hope that every day they maintain their quality standards and that we can always count on this magnificent chain of stores in the future

Absoluely stunning visual. All the normal characters, same story line, great songs. But done in the most jaw-dropping CGI I've ever seen. The clarity in the close-up scenes is nearly unnerving. It is hard to tell what is real and what is not. It's that good. And I haven't even seen the 4k version yet. I've only watched the blu-ray on my 32" bedroom Samsung!

The Lion King ( 2019 ) is a masterpiece of a movie to own. Perfect for the whole family to watch, you will be amazed by the level of detail that is present in this movie from the lush jungles, to the wildlife animals and vast scenery in this movie. Everything pops with fine detail. This movie is a must have for anyone who owns a 4K TV and 4K blu ray player.

I went on the last week of showing at the movies to seeThe Lion King because I was not happy with all the news that the Movie was all about Queen B? I am very happy to say it was not, The Lion King Movie is a Disney Classic and that is the reason we added The Lion King 4K Ultra Blu-Ray to our home collection at the very best price. Thank You Best Buy.

When I say I love the Lion King I mean I LOVE the lion King! And this beautifully made live adaption was phenomenal! A must have for us die hard fans. The Steelbook came fantastically wrapped and if I may add the cover art is gorgeous! The 4K picture is outstanding and mind-blowing! Definitely can't wait to watch it come alive on an OLED TV some time

While Favreau's polished film will always come a distant second for anyone who fell in love with the original, his version is hugely respectful to the story and has its powerful moments too. Overall, the great circle of life has thrown up a gorgeous, star-studded story that brings back major nostalgia and delivers with award-worthy, stunning VFX.

Ever since they remade the jungle book with the people the remakes of the classic movies from when I was a child is the best. I seen this in theaters and they added a few parts that were new but everything else was the same. This movie has great effects and the animals are real life. Love it glad it was on sale definitely had to buy this.

As a director, Jon Favreau pays attention to detail like no other. An entire 3D environment was created for this movie, just so they could film this virtual world as if it was real. Some of the scenes match the original to the dot, the only thing missing is Elton John's songs, but this movie is an absolutely must have for any collector.

I bought as a Christmas gift for my great grand daughter who is 3 years old and enjoys animal stories. She was excited when she saw the package and I know that she will enjoy it each time she watches the movie. Disney does a really great job on children movies and I know this will be another one that will last for years to come.

Being a Disney fanatic and The Lion King being one of my favorites, I have to admit that this was a great movie. I am not a professional in the rating department so this is just my opinion. The 4K had really nice colors and it made the movie really beautiful. I was very impressed with how alive the characters appeared. It is difficult to top the Elton John songs but I thought the versions were very good. Overall, I loved the movie and I am glad that I purchased the 4K steelbook format.

I actually think this movie is better than the original. I grew up on the original and saw this new one in the theater. It was not 100% the same as the original and the soundtrack was weak compared to the original, but by far the movie its self was the best. Preordered it and can't wait to watch it again with the whole family.

First off, let me say that I love the original Lion King movie. It is definitely among my top favorite Disney films. That being said, this movie is a remake but it’s not a replacement for the original. It is a wonderful story told in a different medium and cannot be compared to the original in the same way. The CGI is very well done, and the actors portrayed the roles in their own way. Watch this movie with an open mind and appreciate it as a retelling of one of your favorites.

Although, I normally do like classic cartoon movie being turned into real-life(like), this was an exception. The songs from Beyonce and others gave the movie a boost; the voices were also good or better than the original. This is a good movie for all ages and it is funnier than some funny movies out there today. Enjoy.

Good but the original way better why was the voice of scar not in this movie really you get some other actor to play the iconic Jeremy Irons overall I did like it but the animated is way better than this dont understand why disney went on a all black cast some dont even sound right maybe it's just me and love the original too much for this animated remake because you know all the animals are cgi right anyways not for me do yourselves a favor watch the original 100 times better

The 1994 Lion King was a classic - a great story with excellent animation, so I didn't think I would like the new remake. But, this 2019 version is just as good as the original. The story is slightly different and the CGI is so good that it really does look like "live action". I was extremely pleased with this one.

In A year of serious Disney Reboots and Re imaginings, this movie, while it is very good, left me wanting more than it gave me. It is pretty much a shot for shot remake, which isn't bad, it was just missing something that I still can't quite figure out. It does look wonderful on 4K though! It's worth the purchase!

First and foremost I must say the original is better, but this is a mirror image of the cartoon it is exactly the same, there is some subtle differences here and there and of course the animals are realistic, all in all I highly enjoy and recommend this movie if you are a fan of the original you will love this one.

It’s amazing how lifelike the animation is . Beyond incredible more often one asks if it is in fact animation or did they train these animals. Oddly tho, unlike many other live remakes of Disney classics that brought new content with it, this film clearly aimed to be a near exact replica of the original. It’s success at that leads to a failure in attention. We’ve all seen the movie . There’s nothing beyond the eye candy to draw and keep you from being bored.
