A film aware of itself while its central character, played by Jason Bateman, is not. With nods to French films, Wes Anderson, Whit Stillman and Woody Allen. Gorgeously shot with a wonderful soundtrack, it makes New York seem like old Paris. I found it charming, beautiful and a great satire. Olivia Wilde's beauty is remarkable - she plays the perfect dream girlfriend, looking like a modern Jane Birkin. Jenny Slate is also wonderful, witty and herself and although downplayed in this movie, the only truly relatable character. Watch this movie to slip into a fantasy world of old money and social graces, all with an intentional parody of the privileged class.

I bought the movie because it was on sale & I really liked the actors. It surpassed my expectations. I would recommend as a gift or just a quiet night watching movies.

It is a good movie for couple, however I don't like it much, but that may just me.

I watched a trailer and thought we might like this movie, but sorry to say that neither of us enjoyed it. In fact, we turned it off before the movie was over. Generally enjoy Jason Bateman's acting and I think that part was fine, just didn't like the script I guess.

This is by far the worst movie I've ever seen. Never in my life have I wanted to return a movie until I saw this putrid pile of garbage. A wanna be combination of (500) Days of Summer, Wes Anderson, and Woody Allen that falls flat on all three fronts. The plot is a lot like the movie itself. A man searching to write a book with great substance that's well articulated. Unfortunaly that won't be found. I beg you (no matter how much love Jason Bateman) do not purchase this movie! It's two hours of your life you'll never ever get back.

This movie was wonderful! It had a really cute plot and had many hilarious moments. A refreshing surprise of a movie.
