Matt Damon is great, and as the sole inhabitant of the entire planet of Mars, his comments, actions, efforts to stay positive about being stranded were both humorous and at times sad. The music he has to listen to, the ideas he came up with for himself--pirate Captain Yellowbeard--made the movie even better.

This film has everything. Strong emotion highlighting the human will to survive. Also that friends will never let you down. All within a very realistic sci-if environment. For some reason the academy categorized it as a comedy. There were some very funny parts, but that ignores the best aspects of the movie.

One of the few intelligent science fiction movies to come out in the past few years. The extra 10 minutes of footage clears up some questions and rough spots that might otherwise leave some viewers confused. The special features add a whole new layer to the viewing experience. One of my all time favorites.

I already had a blu ray copy of this movie. I figured this would be the perfect movie to own in 4K, so I upgraded. I'm really pleased I did. The 4K just makes every Mars landscape and space scent pop. The special effects look fantastic.

This was by far my favorite movie of the year. Matt Damon was amazing as a man left stranded on Mars trying to survive. You find yourself rooting for him the whole movie and you feel every set back he has with him. There was a little language that is maybe not for kids, but it should be fine for the older set.

I saw this movie at the theater and enjoyed it just fine. It was very entertaining, and if you don't get too much into the details, it wasn't that bad. It was nice because it kept moving around enough that you didn't get bored watching a guy survive on Mars. Oscar...I don't think so. Some of the special effects were a little cheesy, but like I said... don't get too much into the details. Just enjoy the movie for what it is. That is what's nice about watching it at home...You can laugh out loud anytime you want.

This 3-D Blu ray of the Martian is one of the best purchases of the year! Picture is amazing and even more impressing in glorious 3-D. The sound will blow you away....unless you are not a fan of Disco music... extras are pretty good, though some of the mockumentary pieces were a tad lame. highly recommended!

One of the best science fiction movies In the last few years. Ranks up there with Interstellar. The logistics of his rescue seem a bit unbelievable (too many things happening right) but still it gave you the impression that people did land on Mars. Haven't watched it in 3D yet but I'm betting it'll be great.

This is a movie I saw advertised before and during it's run in the movie theaters and I just didn't think it was one for me. Not necessarily a bad movie just that the previews didn't draw me in. So I decided to watch it streaming and absolutely was hooked within the 1st 25 minutes. It is a must see movie.

This the best movie of 2015! It brought up some interesting concepts on how one would be able to survive on Mars if stranded there. I am hopeful that in my lifetime I will get to see someone on Mars. It will be my generations Moon landing. This has humor, suspense, despair, and triumph, this is a must see!!!

This in my opinion is probably one of the best movies to come out in a long time. We enjoyed it all the way through, both in the theater and on BluRay. Matt Damon is superb as well as the rest of the cast. They made a good team. It has just the right amount of comedy to go with the seriousness of the movie.

I know you are thinking, space movies have been done over and over again, but this one stands out as a plethora of all things that make a movie great. And then there is the 4K picture and sweet surround sound, if you enjoy a great space adventure, then the Martian is for you.

I really enjoyed this movie. Suspenseful, funny and a great performance by Matt Damon. Also nice to see that most of the things that happen in the movie are based on scientific fact and would be possible on future Mars missions. There is also enough going on in the movie to make it worth multiple viewings.

When I first heard they were going to make a movie of The Martian I had to listen to the audio book first. The book was really good and the movie was great. It's one of the movies that were equal to the book. The movie cut out all the boring parts that were in the book, I think. Great movie and great book.

One of my favorite Sci-Fi films in recent years. Matt Damon givea a very realistic performance and the scientific accuracy was spot on for a change.

I didn't read the book ahead of time, but this movie made me want to. Damon is great, and there's the right amount of humor, combined with the obvious seriousness of stranding someone on Mars. It's not a perfect movie (why is Kristen Wiig here?), but I'd say this is one of Ridley Scott's better efforts.

This disc was amazing in my new 4k & Dolby Atmos equipped media room. The opening sandstorm scene with Atmos is almost unbelievably immersive. The overhead atmospheric effects are outstanding! The level of visual detail and the visual effects are stunning as well.

It's a Awesome movie. It's a very unexpected story how it starts to the end. Not only the storyline is great but the visual line is Awesome too! I would highly recommend this movie to anyone that is highly doesn't like sci-fi movies cause it's that awesome. So , got to buy this movie for sure.

I didn't think I was going to like this movie at first, but, I found that it kept me interested from the very beginning. Damon did a great job, and it was an exceptional story, with nice acting by everyone, and the fx were great too. It ended too neatly, but, that's ok. The story itself made up for tha.
