Loved this movie...ridley scott did great...best 3d ive seen in a while. Movie has simple but great plot. Gets stranded on mars and needs to get back home lol. The 3d imagery is great the depth of it shows how far and big mars is. Pick this up if you love scifi and planetary environments.

For me, the book definitely fit the old cliché, "Once I picked it up I couldn't put it down." I was excited to see the movie, and happy that it is very faithful to the book. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in space travel and in science fiction heavily based on science.

We first saw this movie at a nearby Drive-In and liked it so much we bought the Blu-Ray to watch it again. Though Matt Damon is annoying off the screen, he's very entertaining on-screen and this movie was both funny and entertaining thanks to him. Would definitely recommend watching it.

The quality of the blu ray is fine but there is an equally priced blu ray with additional extras and a directors cut.

I have to start off with saying I had never read the book beforehand, but wish I had because the story and ideas in the movie were so fascinating! Matt Damon does an amazing job with a lot of solo acting and still keeps it so interesting and me glued to the TV. At a time when a lot of space movies were coming out this movie did a great job of not just being the same old movie, but definitely being unique and a recommended watch and great one to own.

I first read the book and could not put it down. One of the best books I have read in a while. A few weeks later the movie came out and I could not wait to see it. There is so much detail in the book that a movie could not even begin to cover in a 2-3 hour window, so I felt there definitely were some things that were left out. But overall, the movie is very entertaining and the special effects are incredible. I bought this movie and have already watched it a couple of times.

I saw this in the Cinema in 3D & loved it! 3D isn't always worth it with some films, but this one really worked in 3D, so I bought the 3D DVD & glad I did, I think it works well on DVD. The film is very exciting & I think brilliant in what he comes up with in trying to survive on Mars.

This is a sci-fi movie witthout alot of the normal violence found in these type of movies. The one thing that stood out in my mind was the fact that Mars is really cold. Really, really cold. Alot colder than the movie is made out to be. That is true of any place on the planet except on the equator at noon. There, then it is in the 60's and by the poles it is -243 f. I guess they were close to the equator in the movie. If you like sci-fi without all the violence, this is it.

Matt Damon is great at getting lost and then found (see also Saving Private Ryan, Interstellar). But in all seriousness, this is a truly excellent performance. The scientifically accurate storyline moves along nicely and is both compelling and suspenseful. Appropriate fro tweens on up.

We saw this at the theater so we knew we had to add it to our collection. Wonderful all-around movie... Fantastic special effects. Puts you in Matt Damon's shoes, like "Castaway" did with Tom Hanks. Gripping story with a bit of humor added. Love watching the special features afterward.

Scifi movies often have multiple characters to rely on telling a story but the way this movie fixates on one character throughout is effortless. Great performance and if your good with foreshadowing then you will see certain events coming up. If not, then you will be surprised.

One of the few times that the movie was as good as the book. I would recommended both. This movie was hilarious, smart, well paced, visually stunning, amazing story, casting was on point...cannot really find anything negative to say about this film. Buy it, watch it, You will enjoy it.

One of the best movies of 2015, this is a great uplifting film about the power of survival and not giving up even in the most incredible situations. One of Matt Damon and Ridley Scott's best movies, also a talented supporting cast and top notch technical craftsmanship. I'm a big 3D fan, so this 3D Blu-Ray is highly recommended, great picture and sound. Wish there was more special features because I'm picky like that. Nevertheless this is a great movie and great 3D purchase!

Feels awesome to finally be seeing this visually cool looking film in 4K! This release also comes with the extended cut of the film! Overall really happy with my purchase!

This is one of the best movies Matt Damon has been done, I know he has. A Lot of more. This is my humble opinion. The entire story is great. It has their moments, but for the most part everything is amazing.

Matt Damon gives a terrific performance as an astronaut stranded on Mars and doing everything possible to survive. The scenes are very realistic and the sharpness and detail of the background is mesmerizing. Wonderful Bluray picture quality and sound. I highly recommend this purchase.

I have seen this move in the movies, enjoyed it just as much in 4k at home.....now if I only had some popcorn. This DVD is one of the better UHD 4K dvd’s for both video and sound. The story is well done, the acting was also first rate, a must have!

Ridley Scott, (director of Blade Runner, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, etc.) delivers this fresh tale of perseverance, ingenuity and hope. It is one of the most uplifting films in a long time, but never swerves into the realm of the schmaltzy. It is also one of the most realistic Science Fiction stories I've ever seen. Matt Damon grounds the whole affair with his subdued but honest portrayal of an astronaut stranded with only his intellect and his will to life to save him.

This is one of my favorite movies from 2015. While the ending is predictable, it is entertaining on how it gets done. Imagine being alone on Mars wondering if you have enough air to breathe and food to eat for the years it will take to rescue you if at all. Matt Damon is at his best!

I have been an avid fan of this movie since I saw it in the theater, and even purchased the Blu Ray cut of it. I had heard that the 4K HDR Version was a classic 4K cut and was not disappointed. A must have if you own a 4K Blu ray Player (I recently purchased an Oppo).
