So satisfied with this purchase, this is my girlfriend’s favorite movie and she loved experiencing in 4K after watching it so many times on cable. The picture is outstanding so clear and vibrant!!

I never watched this movie in theatres. Having said that, I usually do NoT buy movies if I haven't seen them. However the raving reviews from friends and family had me convinced. One thing is for sure, no "ragrets". This movie is awesome! I watched it 3 times the week I bought it :)

Too many times, the quality of a fine book suffers when it is brought to the screen. That was not the case with "The Martian." Adapting the book to the big screen was a significant challenge, and it was handled beautifully. The movie was as good as the book.,

Great movie. The extended version adds some stuff but doesn't dynamically change the film. It was nice to see the additions, but the extra length didn't blow me away.

Excellent movie worth the watches extended and theatrical. Matt damon delivers again as expected along with a master class of supporting actors

We really enjoyed this movie a lot. It really shows the determination of the human spirit. Although impossible by today's standards, the movie was plenty of action, drama and well placed humor. I would recommend this movie and agree with the rating the industry gave it.

Space films always look great in theatres and especially on big-screen TV's in the Blu-ray format. This was an especailly good space film, almost like a documentary. It is one where I will watch it again and again. I knew I wanted this disc after seeing the film in a threatre.

This movie is definitely one of the better 'space travel' movies released. Two additional bonuses are present here! One, it's in 4k Ultra High Def picture and sound..PLUS it's an EXTENDED EDITION! I LOVE THIS MOVIE MORE THAN BEFORE!! A MUST OWN AND WATCH MULTIPLE TIMES!!

The Martian is excellent and should appeal to young and old. Director Ridley Scott and actor Matt Damon are an unbeatable team, The scenes on Mars arè so realistic that viewers feel they are with Matt Damon on the Red Planet and that they share his quest to survive in outer-space.

This is the best movie that I have seen In a very long time. Very exciting, Good 3D & a "Feel Good" Movie. Men hats to show emotion but it is such a Heart Warming Story, you will not be able to hold back the tears. If you don't enjoy this movie...there is something wrong with you.

This is an excellent movie, as most Matt Damon movies are. The special effects are great. I really enjoyed the story line, however, I question it's being classified as a comedy by the Academy Awards committee. There is some humor but not enough that I would consider this a comedy.

What a ride - Both the story line and A/V Quality of this 4K UHD Presentation is great. No Atmos here but but that didn't seem to hurt the audio at all. Believe there is a later Extended Edition that does provide Atmos.

If you loved the book, this has more stuff from it. And the fact that it comes with the theatrical cut too made this an easy purchase. My only complaint is that they should have released this version to from the get-go instead of marketing it as a double dip, but whatever.

A well done production on a what if experience. How would you deal with an almost impossible, life threatening problem? Very engaging script and production.Enjoyed it all the way through until the suspenseful ending.

This is the Extended Edition, in the case of Ridley Scott is something that usually always happens. It adds around 10 minutes to the Original cut of the film. Also for Steelbook collectors this is one that looks good, so you have a win win. Check it out for yourself.

Great to watch this movie again, this time in 4K. This is a great movie, story and visuals. The added resolution is evident close-up, but at normal viewing distances, not that noticeable. But I'm glad I picked-up this edition anyway. At a great price.

Great story, well executed and well acted by everyone. The movie is a cross between cast away and Apollo 13. So well done, it fells that it could be a true story. A well crafted story, with believable characters, and no one is stereotypical villain. The 3D is also very well done.

Top notch space thriller with loads of suspense and special effects. Murphy's law rules on this planet, and so it's a good thing that science, guts and loyalty can still over come potential disaster. If you are ever invited to dinner by a Martian, don't eat the potatoes.

I know we have Matt Damon's face plastered all over the cover here, but Jessica Chastain proves to be a marvel in this supporting role. That's not to take anything away from Damon, who is awfully comfortable and sarcastically funny being stranded away here.

Never seen the extended edition before. It adds a few more scenes that give the rest of the movie a little more context. I enjoyed it more than the original which i liked quite a bit as is.
