My friend bought this movie which we saw a while ago at the movie theater. Matt Damon's performance is inspiring and hilarious. Definitely not a movie to miss. It's something that can be rewatched many times and is still just as enjoyable as the first time you've seen it :)

If you've seen the trailers, you know the premise. Matt Damon is an astronaut and is accidentally left on Mars and thought to be dead. Now he needs to learn how to survive while the world watches and waits. A great movie. I haven't read the book yet, but now I plan to do so.

Director's cuts are usually hit or miss. Some just add extra scenes that were not necessary. However, with this movie, the added 10 minutes make the story line slightly deeper than before. The Martian was already a great film, and this cut makes it just that much better.

This version of the Martin you get about 10 minutes of extra footage, it is nothing ground breaking but it does enhance the movie some, so this is worth getting over the non extended version.

I know its based on a book, but in a world where all the big time movies are sequels and universes and all that, this is a fun one shot movie with a fun and interesting beginning, middle, and end. Great movie night with a nice TV set up.

This is a great movie and the 4K format makes it that much better - from the first time I watched it I was very disappointed in the ending (which I know you have No control over), however since then apparently enough people complained that now there is a release with alternate endings - and since we bought one of the first ones when the 4K players came out we have the one with the awful ending. That is truly the only reason for a 4 instead of a 5

I didn't know what to expect before seeing this, as the reviews I had read were all positive. After watching it, I agree completely. Part comedy, Part drama. Matt Damon was teriffic. The movie kept me occupied the entire time. (Note: The "F" word is used a couple of times.)

4K disc looked and sounded amazing, great sci-fi movie as well. Highly recommend picking up this disc as it’s a great representation of the 4K UHD format and its capabilities.

There have been a few good space movies to come out in the last couple years, but The Martian is very worth your time. Exciting, tense, and some good humor make this a must see movie in my opinion. Watched it a couple times already, and really enjoy it.

I made the mistake of reading the book first, which was absolutely fantastic. It had really drawn me in and grabbed me. So when I saw the movie, I had very high expectations. That may be coloring my review a little. I think if I had seen the movie first, I would have given it five stars, but it was still very good all the same. Do yourself a favor and see this movie, preferably before you read the book so you can come back and appreciate that even more.

I already own the movie in 3D, but I'm a sucker for Steelbook packaging so I picked this up and combined the two into this one. The extra footage certainly doesn't hurt a great film, extending the enjoyment of it. The movie is great, highly recommended.

The Martian is a great movie about survival and hope. The book obviously was better, but Ridley Scott and Matt Damon did a great job of bringing the page to the screen. You get so involved in the story and it is a thrill ride that you almost don't want to end. Great movie.

One of the best movies of 2015...got the 3D version and it was excellent. Great plot, even better visual effects, and an all around great performance by Matt Damon made this an excellent addition to anyone's collection. Also has some pretty funny jokes peppered throughout.

This is my first 4K movie and I picked a great one. I had seen small parts of the movie, but had no idea how the whole story would work out. I'm a science fiction buff, but this story definitely falls in the realm of possibilities and in the not to distant future.

I haven't been able to find this on DVD. It has the digital download that allows me to watch it on my TV. This is the extended version which shows parts that I never saw before. Love this movie!

How can you go wrong if you watching a movie directed by Ridley Scott. Throw in Matt Damon in this more or less: one man show extravaganza and you have a near excellent rating. The only thing keeping it from that is all the great work from both men over their careers. It is just a fun movie to watch that has many elements in it - ranging from just plain funny to very dramatic at times. A very visual film, and just like Gravity, a satisfying ending.

Great movie; deserving of the many accolades - a Robinson Crusoe epic for the 21st Century. Production values are brilliant - Ridley Scott really knows how to make a superb entertainment experience in stunning HD. Digital iTunes extras are well curated as well.

This movie wowed me! It wasn't a usual floating around in space movie, but involved some very creative genius from the main character and was touched with humor which made it perfect. I bought this after seeing it in the theater so I can see it again and again.

A great purchase for people that want to a higher quality picture and having the added bonus of getting a digital download included with bonus features so you can watch your favorite movie anywhere on any streaming device that you use.

I was expecting this to be another "Lost in Space" type of movie similar to Gravity, but I was pleasantly surprised. The entire cast was excellent, and so was the plot. I really enjoyed the special effects and the various scenes with Matt Damon creating his videography.
