Finished the audio book and then watched the movie. Matt Damon was a good choice for the lead. The book does get pretty technical and the movie does a good job of walking the line of being true to the book without going too technical.

A great movie! I love science fiction and drama. It's funny as well. The actors/actresses were great. And the picture was awesome. I'd definitely buy it if you like space and the stars. Makes you think where we are going and if we could make it to Mars in our life time.

Loved this film in the theatre. I'm also very happy with the transfer, including 3D. It looks and sounds great. I would recommend this to anyone interested in manned spaceflight. Well directed and acted, and a mostly believable story. They do stretch it a bit at the end.

I'm not really a Matt Damon fan...I avoided seeing this movie in the theaters, but on a flight I watched it and I got hooked. The story was great and so was Matt Damon. I literally landed and went straight to Best Buy to purchase this so my wife could enjoy it as well.

What can you say about The Martian 4K... that's it looks incredible! The shots on Mars are phenomenal and look stunning in 4K. The scenes on earth in the movie are a little on the soft side and not as sharp! But the scenes on mars are demo worthy!!

Didn't know what to expect of this movie but please remember that it was purchased BEFORE the Oscars. Was very pleasantly surprised as we are science fictions fans and even though some things portrayed in the movie are not possible we still enjoyed the story very much!

If have never read the book(yes this movie is from book, and the story behind it pretty awesome) watch the movie first. This movie has a great story, it's filled with suspense, thrills and a bit of comedy. The whole cast was pick prefectly. Buy this movie and enjoy it.

It’s a shame that 3D isn’t being backed by the US market anymore. This movie was great, with wonderful 3D to add to the sense of being alone on another planet. A must for any 3D collection.

I've heard nothing but good things since it came out in 2015, but never really cared to watch it. I finally decided to buy it and it's a great space movie with a nice mix of laughs and seriousness.

I am not nearly intelligent enough to determine if all the science in this film is accurate, but they had me convinced. Humor keeps the suspenseful parts well spaced, and overall this turned out to be an excellent film. Great watch for people wanting modern day sci-fi.

A truly great and engaging film. Hollywood should make this type of film more often. The 4K UHD with HDR is outstanding. The regular bluray is no slouch but this version looks even better. The Dolby Atmos sound is also fantastic.....Worth the price of admission.

Yes I am a sci-fi nut and this just fed that, but this was a Great movie, and will make you happy you watched it. Is it perfect, no, but then NO movie ever has been, so those who will chop/dice movies up should not watch another movie ever again. This is a great movie.

This movie was much appreciated and longtime awaited arrival to blu-Ray. On my part. I watched: Interstellar and Gravity prior to viewing it. Matt Damon was excellent and the movie had a realistic feel to what one could possibly expect as an Alien n an unknown planet

We purchased The Martian Blue-Ray and went home to watch it not really knowing what to expect. My family and I were glued to the movie from start to finish. It was not what we were anticipating and we were pleasantly surprised and thoroughly entertained by the movie.

Martian just looks amazing, landscapes on Mars...in addition to the instrument panels. Everything pops in UHD. I didn't notice the extra minutes I bought with the Extended Edition simply because I'm not an expert on the flick and have only seen it twice thus far.

The Martian is a great film. When they released it on DVD it should have bee this version. Then you have the option to watch the version you want. The studio is just out to make more money with multiple releases. Buy this one ... instead of the other!

after reading the book and then watching the original cut, i was really looking forward to an extended version...and i definitely was NOT disappointed! for the casual fan, there probably isn't much difference. but for fans of the book, this is a must watch.

makes me feel like someone actually landed on Mars and I am watching a documentary. It was well done and half expected Mars to be more red on the ground and sky but what do I know about actual conditions. Movie is great and has so many ups and downs its frustrating.
