Sound and color are fantastic! Movie script perfect. A few small technical flaws in physics but also a lot done right. Matt Damon does what he does best. I enjoyed the movie very much. A good mix of humor, intelligence and drama.

This was a must see for me because my son who just passed away last December looks so much like Matt Damon, but after seeing the movie, I realized why it was considered to be an Oscar contender and why Matt Damon was also nominated. Excellent and touching story.

I enjoyed the story line and the science that was involved with the movie. It has great visuals and the extended version adds a lot more to the story which didn't come with my prior blu ray purchase. It was on sale for $5 so it was a good buy.

I recommend reading the book first. In the interest of time they had to leave out a ton of detail. My wife was confused at some parts of the movie and I had to give her a little back ground. Whether or not you choose to read the book, I highly recommend this movie.

This was one of the best movies we saw from 2015. Good story, good production values, good acting. it was plausible science fiction -- nothing mind bending, very fact grounded (undoubtedly some of the science is oversimplified). A good action story with some humor.

This movie is truly spectacular, I have heard many good things from friends who had seen it before me and I wasted no time taking this home and experiencing it first hand. Such a great combination of action, suspense and humor and of course Matt Damon! A must see

Ridley Scott is one of my favorite directors and this is one of the best sci-fi films in recent years, which ranks alongside his classics-- Blade Runner and Alien. Looking forward to watching the extended edition. Love the steel book packaging, too!

The Martian is definitely a movie that I recommend for all to see. The tale of survival instincts and a man/s will to live are very compelling. You never know what you are capable of or what you can do until you are put in a situation to where you have no choice.

Best Buy's Exclusive Steel Book Extended Edition Blu-ray is Fantastic. Extended Edition adds about 10 minutes to the movie's length. Steel Book quality was first rate. A must have for science fiction fans. Blu-ray video quality is excellent.

The Martian is a great popcorn movie. It's smart, tense, funny, and has enough action to grab any film lover's attention. If you missed this one in theaters, you really missed out, and if you have 3-D capability in your home, take that route. You won't be sorry.

I like this movie alot extended cut was nice did not make the movie better or worse This 4k bluray has fantastic picture and sound HDR is really great in this I was impressed by the clarity and the fantastic sound in this. Recommended highly

I love this movie, loved it in the theatres and wanted to be able to watch it in 3D at home, so I bought this package with the 3D copy and I'm so glad I did!! I have never used my 3D tv for anything really, this is the first 3D movie I have bought! Well worth it!!

This film looks fantastic in 4K. Definitely pick this up if you're lookin for a 4K movie to watch. I'd suggest watching it in the dark though, because there are a lot of scenes which are kind of dark (in space) and require attention to detail.

The Martian is a fantastic film. One that I needed to add to my collection. That being said, the 4k tranfer of this film is good but not great. I was hoping for much more from this disc. I wasn't dissapointed, but not impressed either. The standard bluray is almost as good and much cheaper as of 2021.

Great Sci-fi film with little nuggets of comedy trailed throughout. 4K version was a good purchase film really shines on an OLED.

The content and story was amazing, I really enjoyed this movie more than the other flick he was in recently with Matthew, great graphics and very moving. If you love sci-fi, you love this one too. The irony and sense of humor in this will keep you interested.

Interesting and exciting movie. Matt Damon did a great acting job in this one -- you really feel like you're on Mars with him. Touching story about man's need to explore, instinct to survive, and people caring about each other.

After reading the book I couldn't believe the film was PG-13. There was a lot of language in the book that I thought was necessary to the Watney character. I couldn't believe they pulled it off with minimal language. Matt Damon surprisingly pulled off the humor of the character really well too. Overall the film was very fun and optimistic. My only complaint was how they changed the ending. It was a tad ridiculous. I still loved the film.

This movie is full of great acting, wonderful bits of nerdy science, and a lot of humor balanced with the drama of bringing a lost astronaut home. I expected to enjoy this movie, but I ended up adoring it. I highly recommend The Martian and a great sci-fi movie!

Simply put, this is a film where everyone involved brings their A game. Crisp writing, on-point acting and typically beautiful camera work from Sir Ridley makes The Martian one of the best sci fi films in years and undoubtedly one of the best films of the year.
