The Martian, an adaptation of a bestselling novel by Andy Wier about an astronaut stranded on Mars delivers everything you want in a big budget thriller. It's smart, as the astronaut (Matt Damon), his crewmembers and NASA have to rely on science to keep him alive long enough for him to be rescued. Damon delivers a funny and moving performance and keeps the movie focused. Special effects are great and the Blu-ray looks fantastic.

This is an excellent film. The blu-ray with digital copy is a great choice if you want to watch the movie on a portable device. I was able to download the movie to my iPhone using the Flixter app. This is a good movie to add to your collection.

Movie is very well done and Matt Damon seems to really enjoy playing the title character. Think you will definitely enjoy it if you like plausible near time space adventures. If you can, read the book before you see the movie (the book is awesome!). The movie is good even if you haven't read the book; but, you'll get a lot more out of it after reading the book. I highly recommend this either in DVD (this format) or blu-ray.

Well I got this movie and enjoyed it very much. It had so much more action that looked like when I saw the previews. So I did enjoy watching this movie and will enjoy watching it over and over. So if you like a drama / sci-fi you like this movie very much

The Martian is a believable story that captivates the viewer and entertains at the same time. It explores a possibility that could occur in the U.S. Space program and is not so far fetched. What would we do if that were to happen to one of our Astronauts?

I'm reading the book which is more technical so I'm glad the screenwriter didn't dwell on that too much. Humor with edge of your seat, breath holding suspense. Matt Damon was great in this role since he was basically acting alone. Who could ask for more.

I love a good sci-fi flick and this was a pretty good one. The story seems something that could very well happen in the future. Good story and good acting by Matt Damon as always. Reminded me of a similar character from Interstellar, another great movie.

Had this movie on blu-ray, and loved it. Saw it on sale in 4k and the detail is simply amazing! The clarity of even the smallest detail (like the stitching on the space suit) blew me away. Awesome issue of an awesome film.

Excellent movie, Matt Damon does a fantastic job. The rest of the cast is stellar as well. There's just enough action to keep you interested and plenty of emotion as well. Highly recommend if you have or haven't seen it.

The 3D and 2d version is excellent and the sound is incredible.. I have the Samsung JS9500 SUHD 4K tv and an excellent surround sound system and this movie looked perfect the sound track was So real. This is a must have Blu Ray for any video enthusiast .

Bought a 4K TV and Blu Ray player for Christmas. Searched online for the best 4K Blu rays and this movie appeared on most lists. The review were right. Highly recommend. Great cinematography and visuals. The story was excellent too!

I just recently purchased a Blu-ray. It seems like everything I purchased from Best Buy is great. From customer service to the quality! Hassel free returns( not that, that is my intent)! Its just a all around great place to shop, bottom line.

This movie is simply stunning. I saw it in t heatres and the moment it was release on blu ray I knew I had to have it. It has drama, comedy, and will keep you on the edge of your seat. I highly recommend it. Do yourself a favor and pick up the martian!

where to start, this movie is amazing, again Riddly Scott delivers a mater piece. this rivals his gladiator flick. You see counties working together. Its what you wish the world was like, and its a great escape for 2 hours or so.

I loved this movie! Saw it in theaters more than once. I had read the book and was excited to learn it was going to be a movie. Matt Damon nailed the role of Mark Watney. I don't think you need to be a sci-fi fan to enjoy this. A lot of fun and science!

I wasn't sure if I was going to love this one or not from the previews I had watched. i am so glad we purchased it. It is well done . Reminded me of Apollo , and that was one great movie. Story line is fantastic and Matt Damon is excellent in his role.

I read the book when I first saw previews for this movie. This movie is absolutely amazing! It stayed pretty true to the book and that is difficult to find these days when a book becomes a movie. This will be my favorite movie for years to come.

A good movie with a great leading actor. Location set is great like real. All the actors are good. It has a very good moral lesson regarding survivorship and the importance of friendship and family as well as being not selfish. sacrificing for a friend.

The Martian is a fantastic movie full of drama. Matt Damon plays his role perfectly and you will find yourself rooting for his save return home. Smart writing with elements of humor and conflict, splashed with a lot of morality questions. A great movie!
