Love Mel Brooks got this as a Christmas present!!!

I have always enjoyed Mel Brooks' movies. The characters and writing of his movies are much more than a "beat you over the head with obvious low-brow humor" which passes for adult comedies in today's movies. Of course, Mel Brooks also utilized so-called "bathroom humor" in his movies, but it seemed to be done in a different way integrated with the scene or storyline such as the classic "eating beans around the campfire" scene from Blazing Saddles. His movies are also non-stop as to the comedy -jokes, gags, conversation and social commentary - with never a lull from beginning to end. When I saw this Mel Brooks collection on Blu-ray at Best Buy and at such a great price/value I bought it immediately. The pristine video of Blu-ray and included extra features make this a collection for all fans of Mel Brooks' classic comedies to own.

Love Mel Brooks movies with the unique sense of humor!

When I first saw this collection sitting on the shelf, I just had to pick it up. This set has 9 of the most iconic, funniest, craziest movies ever. I'm a big fan of Mel Brooks' movies and to have 9 in one set is awesome. My favorites are Spaceballs, Blazing Saddles and History of the World prt 1 (he should have made a prt 2). There are 4 movies in this set that I haven't seen yet but am looking forward to it. What I also like about this set is the fact that the discs are all on flip trays as opposed to being stacked which makes it easier to take out and put back in, and all the discs have artwork on them (a must have for me ). These movies might be dated, but the jokes and laughter are definitely way ahead of more modern comedies. A must own set.

An amazing collection of the funniest movies ever.

A very excellent collection of Mel Brooks' movies!

Would have been 5 stars if "The Producers" was included. "The 12 Chairs" is a lost classic. Fantastic collection of funny flicks.

I'm a big Mel Brooks fan, so I'm pretty biased here. For the price, these 9 movies are hard to beat. There are definitely some that are better than others, and there are a few that are not in the set at all (The Producers being the one terrible omission...although I even like Life Stinks and Dracula: Dead and Loving It...all of which are absent). What you do get, though, include most of his best works...Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, History of the World, Spaceballs, etc. It includes 5 of his other movies, too, and even if you don't like them, you probably couldn't even buy those 4 movies on BluRay for the price of this whole set.

This collection includes 9 classic Mel Brooks Films, spanning nearly 30 years. Brooks' brand of comedy may not be for everyone, but if you've had one of those silly conversations where someone mentions the name "Frau Blucher," and people make a horse whiny sound, then you're probably a fan. From the wild west (Blazing Saddles) to science fiction (Space Balls) to Alfred Hitchcock (High Anxiety), all of these movies are here in one set. And I would go so far as to call some of them American cultural treasures.

Love these movies. Don't think they could be made in this day and age. That's what makes them so special.

Subtle treatises on contemporary mores in post-war America. Delicate, transcendent, full of penetrating insights and surprisingly revelatory performances by the all-iguana casts. Surely the finest films starring omnivorous lizards that I have ever seen! On an unrelated note, this is a great collection - films not for every mood or taste, but often delightfully irreverent, with both cheap and deep laughs. 'The Producers' would have been nice to see here as well, but you can't have everything, where would you sleep?

Here is the low down on the collection: Contains the films Blazing Saddles, Spaceballs, Young Frankenstein, High Anxiety, History Of The World Part 1, Robin Hood: Men In Tights, Silent Movie, To Be Or Not To Be and The Twelve Chairs. The picture quality is better than previous DVD editions. I was impressed with the number of extras that were.included out-takes, interviews, bloopers, deleted Scenes, etc. The bottom line is that if you are a fan of Mel Brooks' movies, then you simply can't go wrong this collection.
