My friend said i should watch this movie so I did. I liked the premise but felt it could have been better. 4 stars is a balance between 3 stars compared to other supernatural comedies and 5 stars compared to other Chinese supernatural comedies, I've seen more than a few. But I think it's true merit is that it's production crew had as much fun making the film as they expected the target audience to have watching it. I'll probably watch more than twice.

You cannot take these movies seriously. If you go in with that mind set, these can be gut busting funny. Me and the wife laughed a lot. If you enjoyed Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle, you'll enjoy this too!!

This was a neat movie I saw in the theater and felt it needed adding to my collection at home. This movie was a wonderfully quirky cross between Splash and Fern Gully. The movie is about a mermaid who is sent to dry land to assassinate a business leader who put in some sonar devices to drive all sea life away from the sea. She learns how to act like a human and finds very clever ways to hide her tail and seduce him....until she falls in love with him and this complicates matters. Yes, the CGI is a little corny at times but the plot and comedy were very well written and acted. There is also an octopus in this movie that frequently gets stuck in sticky situations to protect the mermaid and make sure she sticks to the plan. Five stars!
