Insightful look into Miles' life and music
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Miles Davis Story DVD is over two hours, full of lots of interview clips of Miles, family, friends, and many other great jazz musicians. It also includes lots of footage, some of it rare, including some performing... ALL of it entertaining. This enigmatic innovator could play with the best of them, but realized that sometimes less is more. He was often of the "been there, done than" state of mind, which drove him to push the envelope and innovate and open new jazz avenues and types. For decades he was usually the leader of the pack in jazz, and certainly led an interesting life, which this DVD shows well. If you like jazz, even casually, I highly recommend this DVD.
