    DeNiro was so great 30-40 years ago. What happened to him? This is a great movie with great cinematography. Jeremy Irons and Liam Neeson are great, too.

    I wish Robert De Niro was making movies like this now instead of the lousy stuff he is making now. Great performances all around.

    This copy upgrades my DVD version so it looks and sounds better on my 4K TV with the sound bar.

    It is a great film that did not get a lot of press in the US, but was an award winner in Europe. Irons, Deniro and Neeson were fantastic! An eye opener from a historical standpoint.

  • A Forgotten Gem, One of De Niro's Best

    This is one of my favorite movies. It's based on a historical event that took place with the natives in South America in the 1700's. The story is engrossing and the photography is amazing. Robert De Niro plays the part of a slave trader turned defender. I saw this movie many, many years ago and never quite got it out of my head. Definitely worth owning on blu ray if you are a De Niro fan. Extras are very good. They don't make movies like this anymore.

    Gives a great view of how the priests were trying to educate the Indians and the Spanish wouldn't let them. They were only to be used for slave labor and not educated
