I enjoyed watching this entertaining movie with some great cast members about a piece of WWII history that I was not very knowledgable about. Being a wine connoisseur and having read some books about all the wine the Germans stole, I was bummed to not see stories of the stolen wine in the movie.

My wife had recently read the book the movie was based on and we found the movie to be true to the actual events. A good human interest story about an aspect of WWII that rarely gets much attention, yet even recently we saw some of the artworks stolen from the Rothschild family finally got returned to their control and they promptly donated the items to a museum so the public at large can see and enjoy them now.

I think this movie is very good and I was not aware of the true story that it is based on. I believe it can be seen by most any age group and would be enjoyed by most everyone. The cast is excellent, and the acting and directing and script are all very good. I had seen this movie when it was in theaters and bought the DVD when it came out. My kids and grandkids have borrowed the DVD and enjoyed it also.

A different take on a war movie. If you're looking for a different story about WWII then this is the movie for you. Great performances from all the actors in the movie, and the video is mastered in 4k so every little detail looks unbelievably realistic. There are a few blu-ray exclusives as well.

Solid movie that incorporates various historical facets. Definitely keeps you interested all the way through and effectively incorporates appropriate events from history.

I'm frequently put off by George Clooney but, while he had the co-lead in this movie, he didn't get in the way of the story line and the other actors provided strong characterizations. The historical aspect of the film was fascinating and, on balance, the movie is well worth seeing.

This movie was no Saving Private Ryan. I don't think it's even in my top ten list of WWII movies. However, I thought it was well put together, thoughtful, and very entertaining. And the story is just incredible. I can't believe it's taken Hollywood so long to tell this story!

This movie covers some of the lesser known stories of a group of art lovers who set out to rescue great works of art from destruction. Many movies focus on the battles of WWII, this film focuses on the preservation of the collection of the thoughts and emotions of great artists of the past which in all reality helped influence and inspire many of the great works of today.

The movie was not what I expected. I expected a lot more action. I had not read the reviews of the movie or it's plot line. I thought with the A-list actors in the movie, there would be more action and adventure.

Monuments Men is a fantastic movie with great sets and cinematography. It is not an action movie, which may be why it didn't do as well in the theaters, but it is a wonderful tale of the WWII men to saved as much art as they could. Good acting and wonderful locations.

If you are a fan of war-time history or just history in general, this is a great movie that depicts another side of the war. I had not known about this particular group of men prior to seeing the movie, but it made me want to research about it and read it more. The cast is great and the slight mix of humor into a serious movie was just right. Would highly recommend.

I didn't have high hopes for this flick, but was surprised with how much I enjoyed the film. The story and acting are very appropriate for the subject matter. It being "based on a true story" only adds to the interest. I'm very glad I purchased and watched this film.

I really enjoy this movie. Great actors bring to life an excellent script about a little known, but compelling and important, true story. Surely some license was taken but you can't fault the result. Action and humor make history palatable to a, hopefully, wide audience. And history is not necessarily disserved by Hollywood production values.

Great actors performing in an unforgettable movie based on a true story. The movie keeps your attention and even creates suspense although you may know the outcome. War is dealt with realistically. Yet the real focus is the value of art and its importance and influence for the world. These heroes are willing to give their lives for that.

A very interesting movie on how they saved the precious art that was stolen during German occupation in Europe. A movie for all to see. The actors were very good.

If you love history, especially WW II don't miss this film. It is well acted with more action than I originally anticipated. I can't imagine how much history would have been lost had it not been for this group of men. It is heart sickening to think how much was intentionally destroyed by Hitler or perpetrated by the Russians. A must see in my book.

The writer of the screenplay did an excellent job of bringing together the various strands of the story in the book and weaving them into a fabric contrasting the greed of the enemy leader and the altruism of this band of dedicated men. I recommend.

The cast for this movie was put together very well, because of the type of characters being played in the movie. There is no lull in the and the story flows. It was very enjoyable and gives some insight on what else was going on during the great war.

Good to great movie. A part of WW2 History that has been almost forgotten. It's not a true action war movie. So don't expect that. It's more about the Art. Saving it and the men who did this. I found it interesting. Just a little bit slow at times.

I had no idea what to really expect. My boyfriend really wanted me to watch this movie. I loved it! It was such an interesting side to that historic period that I'd never considered before. So glad I purchased this movie.
