The original Universal Mummy series on Blu-ray is a fantastic addition to anyone's film library. The atmospheric tone set by these films are not lost in high definition!! A must-have for any film fan.

With a new Mummy arriving in theaters it is a good time to revisit the classics and just in time Universal has released the Complete Mummy Legacy in HD on Blu-ray. The set contains the original film with Boris Karloff and 5 sequels from the 1940's and early 50's. Not surprisingly, the first film, with Karloff, is the best of the set. What does surprise is just how short some of these 'feature' films are. While the original Mummy is a little short of 2 hours, a couple of the sequels are just over 1-hour in length. Indeed, the final film of the set, Abbott & Costello Meet The Mummy, is the longest film of the set clocking in at 117 minutes. If you are an Abbott & Costello fan you will enjoy this romp while others will likely find it a tad bit silly. That being said, it is great to have all of these films together in one set and in great looking HD. There are also plenty of extras for those interested in the cinematic history of the Universal Monsters. This is a set worth adding to your video library.

Another in the wonderful series of blu-ray editions of Universal Monster classics. The restorations of all the monster titles have been exceptional, and the Mummy series looks just as good as all that have come before. In one way the Mummy set is a better value than the others, because most of the titles are making their first appearance here. The Frankenstein, Wolfman and Dracula titles have many of the same films duplicated from set to set -- however, at these prices they are still a good value. As movies, the Mummy series has less variety than the others -- the four sequels are very similar to each other -- but if you're a Universal Monsters fan they're still a must have. Pus, the set also includes Abbott & Costello Meet The Mummy -- a title I had never seen before. Highly reccommended for the former Monster Kids out there!

The FOUR STARS are for the movies, not the transfers. The transfers are very well done, but only the original Mummy is a great film. The included films are 1) The Mummy (1932) 2) The Mummy's Hand (1940) 3) The Mummy's Tomb (1942) 4) The Mummy's Ghost (1944) 5) The Mummy's Curse (1944) 6) Abbott & Costello Meet The Mummy. Jack Pierce's makeup in The Mummy is amazing with Karloff looking great as both the Mummy and as his unwrapped self. The makeup for the rest progressively get worse until it is merely a bad mask by the last movies. They have none of the sophistication or character of the first, and the movies are only good as a curiosity. If you want all of them, as I did, this is a great buy. If not...do not waste your time, just buy the Original by itself.

First rate presentation of the Universal Mummy series on Blu-ray. Definitely the best these films have ever looked on home video. No repeats here unlike the other Monster Legacy Collections. All of the films contained will not be on other Legacy sets. Well worth a purchase. Unlike the new Tom Cruise movie, these are real Mummy films.

All of the Mummy films from the original legacy have been brought together for the first time on blu ray, and never have these films looked so good! Nearly all of the bonus features are ported over from the older DVD releases, but the image quality for the films themselves is incredible.

The oldies are certainly worth grabbing for your collection. This BluRay version makes viewing even better. Just keep in mind these are restorations of some older movies, so just so much that can be done. Enjoy the oldies better than the modern version remakes.

This collection is essential for any fan of classic Universal horror. Every classic Mummy movie is here along with a lot of bonus features for the original 1932 film. The A/V quality of the Blu-ray set is very impressive for how old these films are!

I've been collecting Universal Horror movies for the past year. These are fun to watch and see the historical contexts of these films within the cinema world. Highly recommended to anyone who is a fan of this genre and exploring older movies!

This set is amazing. The blu ray transfers look incredibly clean, which only enhances how terrifying that iconic Karloff makeup is. Each film ranges in quality, but even the less-than-great entries in the series are still a lot of fun.

For a fan of the universal monster movies, these blu ray releases are musts. They can be near impossible to track down individually and with them being BR the quality is upgraded. The price is fair too.

I grew up watching all the classic "monster" movies on the late movie, or Saturday afternoon marathons. So, happy to add this Blu set to my library. Hope they release more.

Always loved the old universal monsters. Finally we get a set that includes Abbott & Costello meet the Mummy in high def. great price, not available in other stores!

This is truly a gem of a collection. The original mummy movies in black & white are still classis today and should be appreciated by a whole new generation!

It's great to see the classic Universal Monsters series getting the blu ray treatment and this set is well done with the first film being a masterpiece.

the Mummy is not the greatest or scariest of the Universal monsters but is still well done. I prefer this old classic slinking creepy monster to the current versions with overdone special effects. Plus added bonus for no deplorable Tom Cruise in this version.

These Mummy movies look great upgraded to HD on this Blu Ray set. I would recommend upgrading to this Blu Ray set if you do not own these movies.
