When I heard Capaldi as Richelieu had to leave (for Doctor Who) from this show after the first season, I was concerned about how they'd continue the storyline of the series without a RICHELIEU! Yet the screenwriters managed to keep me interested with new ideas and villains. Others have mentioned it gets off to a slow start, but overall I have enjoyed the entire series as a whole - full of fun, action, romance, etc. Just what we expect from any version of The Musketeers, right? I watched the series on TV, so I have yet to watch through the entire blu-ray set, but so far the quality looks good! Wouldn't mind more special features, though.

Was a mix of emotions to find out Peter Capaldi was leaving the Musketeers to begin his new role as The Doctor on Doctor Who, my other favorite BBC series. He was an excellent Richelieu. Never fear, an even more despicable character shows up. Rochefort. Loved hating him just as much! So looking forward to the next season!

The Musketeers Season 2 (BBC) is a continuation of what occurred in the first season. The characters and plot s are based on Dumas' book, but freely adapted for a more modern audience. I have no problem with this, but if you are a stickler for following the book you may have a problem. But then you should have had a problem with ALL movies and shows made from it, including the movies with Oliver Reed and Michael York. All take some liberties. Personally, I eagerly await Season 3.

I was disappointed when Peter Capaldi did not return as Cardinal Richlieu for season 2. Marc Warren did not disappoint as his replacement as the central villain this season. This is a much darker season than season one as a result. A must see.

I'm very familiar with the Alexandre Dumas Musketeer books, and even though the series is only based on the books, the actors, costumes, scenes, music, and stories are all very faithful and accurate to the end.

The second season just as great as the first! Wonderful story writing and directing. Nice completion of stories started in first season. Can't wait for season three and archs that have begun. Awesome series!

This season of Musketeers was filled with action and intrique. Additionally, many questions concerning the past lives of the Musketeers were answered. A must have for historical action and adventure fans.

The excitement continues in series 2 of the British Series, THE THREE MUSKETEERS. Lots of action as we follow the 3 original Dumas characters through more adventures. Highly recommended. Well done.

Picked up this set to follow on season one. A different take on the characters. Bought the dvd's so I don't have to dvr or binge watch on tv.

Always loved the Dumas classic.....this version has agreeable actors in perfect roles.......sexy too.......eye candy for men and women

bought these for my wife who loves the show. this has to be one of the better BBC shows out there. Very entertaining. a must see.

Like a lot of the Musketeer movies/TV shows that have been produced over the years, this follows the standard story plot with no real surprises. If you are a Musketeer/Swash Buckler fan then this is a TV show worth the watch.

Loved the first season! The second season is just as good and looking forward to the next season to come out!

The series follows the Musketeer tradition of Dumas with all the excitement of the swordplay and intrigue.

A great series, very entertaining, already bought the first season. Buy both You will not be disappointed.

New imagining of the 3 Musketeers, but staying true to the original source. Very entertaining.
