This scanner has very good quality scans, but unlike their desktop model it will only scan one side at a time. I wish I had known this before I ordered.

The neat receipt scanner is awesome for a vehicle-based office. It is perfect for storing in the car and if you need to bring it in you can. The price is great for what you get and the functionality is on par with the normal neat desk scanner. Definitely worth it! The software is bulky and could be more streamlined but works just as advertised. The search function is a lifesaver.

I hesitated a lot before I bought this but I am very glad I did. Very easy to set up and use. Having all my receipts in my computer by category is terrific and I can generate a report at the end of the year for taxes including how much sales tax I spent. The only drawback is that it is a bit slow before the receipt is processed. Paper receipts don't have to be kept as the IRS recognizes these scans as originals

Easy to use & save receipts before they fade being stored in a warm place. Keeps track of expenses in many different categories that you set up yourself. Automatically reads the information on each receipt and allows you to save it in more than one category if you have a split purchase. I would recommend Neat Receipt to everyone. It's not just a scanner!

I bought this for scanning receipts so I can keep track of my tax deductions. This scanner is easy to use and the program that came with the scanner is user friendly as well. I highly recommend this product for personal use. If scanning for a business, upgrade to the bigger one.

Just a great little scanner. Small enough to fits in my suitcase when I travel. Great for expense documentation. Great for expense documentation The OCR software is Awesome! (which is why I chose this over several other scanners) Was able to scan in several older documents that I only had hard copies of. Then cut and paste from scanned documents Should have bought this years ago.

The Neat Scanner is great for our home use in scanning a wide variety of documents. easy setup and easy to use.

the scanner is pretty convenient, but what drove my wife to purchase the scanner is the included software for organizing scans. must purchase a device to get the software, she could not find it stand-alone to run with her scanner she already had. o well. she is happy, so I am happy! :)

I like this because it is small, very easy to set up and use.

I purchased this product to scan my expenses receipts so far it has done its job, although it needs to be cleaned after being used for a while.

This scanner is easy to use. I had a small issue with the software, but customer service helped me get working again quickly and politely!

I bought the cheaper portable version as opposed to the desktop version that you see advertised all the time on TV. Don't know if the desktop would do a better job or not. This version does a good job of scanning business cards and letters. When it put the info from the business cards into a contact file, it usually worked pretty well, unless the card was graphic intensive. Then it had some issues. The plainer the card, the better it did in getting everything right. You just have to be sure to double check the info on the card and the scanned file. Scanning receipts seemed to be more of an issue. The software tries to categorize everything for you, as well as throw the numbers in the right boxes. It doesn't do as good a job there as I hoped it would. The first thing I would tell you to do is cut any info off the receipt that shows any kind of store loyalty points. If you don't, the point total will become the dollar spent total. It also has trouble figuring out the vendor for some companies. It gets Walmart easily enough, imagine that, but really had troubles getting some of the other companies info, especially the local Grocery chain down here. It will allow you to categorize receipts for tax purposes, such as Medicine or doctor or sales tax, but you have to do that yourself. The scan speed is decent enough, but the processing is slow. I would guess the each receipt between scan, process, double checking info, and correcting, probably took 2 minutes. It will be interesting to see come next January if it makes compiling tax records any quicker than going thru all the receipts by hand. I wonder if someone else makes similar software that works with regular scanners. That might be a better way to go for someone with an all in one unit.

It seems that if you want to scan many, the software stops working for some reason. It may need to be updated or something, but the problem is that every time I keep scanning, the Neat desk just shuts down on it's own or asks to restart, which takes more time. I like the idea of it, and what it's supposed to do, but this is becoming a problem.

This thing is awesome to keep your "stack" of business cards from piling up and getting misplaced. I had 20 years of business cards that I got scanned in, organized and put into my Outlook Mail Contacts. Now I have everything at my finger tips. As I get new ones, I scan them and through them away. No more clutter.

Only problem is you have to unplug and replug it when your computer goes to sleep with the program running. Not a major issue.

It's small and works great! I work out in the field and it's very convenient!

it's great in helping you organize all your receipts & paper work. simple to install & after a few mins with the program, you'll be scanning everything. I've been able to empty that drawer where all my receipts ended up. and have them organized in my laptop, by date or business name. it's kinda of $$, but it does it's job. so i give it 5 Stars.

Software and hardware work really well. As a person who racks up a lot of paper receipts. It is nice to be able to sort through them digitally. Not sure if I'll be keeping the cloud storage feature but overall this is a great scanner with very good software backing it up.

I like this scanner and the neat software. Just be prepared for the time-consuming scanning exercise and correcting some errors from business card reads (it´s not fool-proof). I´ve used the feature to export scanned business cards to outlook which is a huge convenience. Only thing is that it only reads US business cards. I´m surprised that in a global world, Neat hasn´t updated the software to read business cards globally. That would be a nice added feature.

this is a must have. I have managed to get rid of 3 filing cabinets that were 5 drawers each with files from years ago all the way to present. now I just automatically scan then shred all the important mail and documents we get. saves time and frees up space in the office.
