this series gets things going in the first 4 minutes . reality check at the door . very good inside look at news and who owns it . the interaction and personal lives collide with just the right oomph to keep you wanting to continue watching each episode .

If you like captivating writing & great characters that are expertly acted & performed, then "The Newsroom" is what you want. Created and written by Aaron Sorkin and his great staff, it's another hit in the vein of "The West Wing" -- a somewhat utopian view presenting brilliant people in a job where we would hope to have them, but real life never achieves. If there were a network like this (and people actually watched it), we'd all be smarter. We would value intelligent discourse instead of a flashy sound bite. TMZ wouldn't be syndicated on 14,000 channels. And we sure wouldn't know anyone named Kardashian. But I digress. Great writing. Superb acting from a deep cast. Compelling stories. Top notch filming & presentation. I wish it had gone on beyond 3 seasons. Enjoy!!!

This is one of those "love it Or hate it" series. Speaking for myself, it is well written, produced, and has great actors. I got hooked from the beginning, but it looks like after Season 3, they (HBO) is pulling the plug. This despite the fact Jeff Daniels won the Emmy for best actor. So for now I can enjoy Seasons 1& 2 while waiting for 3 to start airing this fall.

Newsroom Season 2 is a roller-coaster ride, very similar to Season 1. One, central story is at the heart of the entire season as other, personal stories unfold. The dialogue is as rapid-fire as one would expect from Aaron Sorkin, with enough asides and oblique references to make the second and third viewing engaging and fun. Highly recommend!

This series blends the humor of shows like The Office and Parks and Recreation with the drama of real events that took place in the news several years ago. You also get attached to the characters and caught up in there life. Its a good series. We received Season One for a present and liked it so much we bought Season Two.

The Newsroom is another excellent show by Aaron Sorkin, showcasing the acting talents of Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, Dev Patel, Olivia Munn, Sam Waterston, Allison Pill, John Gallagher, Jr., and Jane Fonda, among so many others! My only disappointment is that it ended with the third season.

The perfect combination of drama and comedy. An absolutely stellar cast headed by the amazing Jeff Daniels ( hard to believe this is the same actor who was in Dumb and Dumber.) An addictive watch from start to finish! Can't wait for season 3!

Anyone caught up in this series knows how good it is. Ending after 3rd season, it never picked up steam, probably because their aren't s-e-x scenes for an HBO show. This is a smart show so don't watch intoxicated or it will go over your head!

The 2nd season relies more on the things we lived in the first season. That being said, some of the best moments of the entire series occur in the 2nd season. Picture and sound are incredible on Blu Ray. Extras are decent and informing.

HBO at its best. From the creator of West Wing – so if you liked that series you’ll love this one. Only this is better because it’s HBO/cable and they have more freedom to create without the censorship of the traditional networks.

The Newsroom has some of the smartest, fastest-repartee writing on any show around. Listen closely or you'll miss a flow of great stuff that just flies by! The issues they tackle are worth your time & thought.

Enjoyed the second season almost as well as the first. One of my favorite things of buying this set was that the code which allows online access also gave access to the episodes via iTunes or Google Play.

This is the second season of the HBO series Newsroom. The second season was the best season of the series. Just to bad the series had to end because the producer could not get his act together.

Lots of controversy on this series, but if you like a well written, intelligent show about news in America, this is it. It only lasted 2 full and a 6 episode season, but it was excellent.

This is one of the best shows out there. Not only are the characters fun to watch, but the way that red-world news is tied into the show makes it fascinating to watch.

Aaron Sorkin creates another show that says important things. The dialog is intelligent, the performances excellent and the only problem is that there are only three seasons.

I waited so long for the second season to get released on blu ray and it was worth the wait. Aaron Sorkin does not disappoint in this season's plot and leaves us wanting more

Those who are politically liberal will enjoy this series much more than those whose views tend toward the conservative. I loved it. Great writing and acting.

So sad to see the series end. Could watch this marvelously written series over and over again. Buy it and have endless hours of incredible viewing.
