This is a very creative and unique film. The story is well known to many older Americans like myself, but not so much for the current generations. Most everyone has been exposed to Wells' "War of the Worlds" in one form or another. This movie mixes the H.G. Wells classic with Orson Welles' radio program which creates a national emergency when listeners (there was no TV at the time) thought the broadcast was actual news coverage of an outer space invasion in America. This production is first rate and based on the actual event, which Welles was heavily criticized for.

When radio was the main media in America, it's understandable that some people were taken in by this radio shows" presentation of Orson Wells "War of the Worlds" drama.
