While the movie is average at best, it’s nice to see Robert Redford star in a movie. Makes the law enforcement look a little silly but par for their profession. The price was unbelievably low (less than the price of a dozen day old donuts. Watching this was well worth my money and time.

Wasn't sure if I would like this movie. Especially when I read the title "The old man and the gun" and then saw Robert Redford as the OLD MAN! Since he isn't much older than me; I wasn't sure that I'd like the movie. The movie is enjoyable as Redford plays a criminal that just can't stop robbing banks throughout his lifetime even though it has put him into prison...Enough said. Enjoy the movie....

Robert Redford was 80 when he made this; in the bonus features, the director (David Lowery) supposes that it may be his last performance. If so, he's going out a winner. Sissy Spacek must be pretty close to 80 by now, and she plays off of Redford nicely. It's a fun story ("based on a true story") of a team of geriatric bank robbers active in Texas in the early '80s who were doing it because they enjoyed it, not because they needed the cash. There are no shoot-em-ups, and not much in the way of chases, but it's fun all the way through.

The Old Man and the Gun is one of my favorite films of 2018. Robert Redford is so charismatic and charming while paired so well alongside Sissy Spacek...you just fall in love with his character. The rumors of this being his last film propelled every aspect. To its gorgeous production design, directing, and cinematography; you will swoon over every frame! The last 10 minutes is an amazing send off to such a legendary actor/director! A must see!

"The Old Man & The Gun" is a charming crime caper film in where Robert Redford (in his final role) portrays real-life criminal Forrest Tucker who made a living robbing banks without ever using a gun. Despite some plot inaccuracies, the film works due to the acting contributed by Redford & Spacek to name a few. Overall, I would recommend the film.

Getting old doing what he loves

The best way to get old is doing what you love. If that's robbing banks, then that's how you get old. Robert Redford's Forrest Tucker is an endearing guy whose greatest joy is robbing banks, never letting aging get in the way and never really considering doing anything else. This is a great Robert Redford movie, in part because Redford is getting old, still doing what he loves, making movies. Check out the interview with him in the special features. You'll see an 82 year old whose mental sharpness is that of someone half his age.

I was looking for something similar to "king of thieves" but ended up buying this movie. It is definitely not a fast paced movie. It is very slow but the actors do a great job and keep you glued to the movie. The movie does not focus too much into the planning but more into the act. Overall, I was happy with the purchase.

Only Robert Redford can take a movie about a bank robber and make you like him. A wonderful change from the super hero movies. The acting was superb. Movie moved right along and the cast was excellent. Picture and sound spot on. Really enjoyed it sorry it was his last movie. It's one to have in your library.

This was Robert Redford's last film in an acting role. It is awesome and will go down as a classic. It reminded me a little of his con artist character in The Sting. The entire cast in this film is fantastic. Sissy Spacek is great as his "love interest" and friend and Casey Afflect is terrific as the detective always one step behind Redford's character. A good game of "cat an mouse" and it's based on a true story. It's both amusing and dramatic.

Texas filmmaker David Lowery’s The Old Man & the Gun is a beautiful, soulful film, in which stars Robert Redford, Casey Affleck and Sissy Spacek are (as always) wonderful. The picture concerns the (mostly) true story of Forrest Tucker (Redford), an aging outlaw who has successfully escaped from prison eighteen times in his criminal career.

See for yourself how Robert Redford was able to maintain his boyish charm in this lighthearted yet based on a true story heist movie. Sissy Spacek shows why we want to see more of her! A great pairing of two of Hollywood's greats! Redford claims this is to be his last film and is ready for retirement now. So watch his last film in beautiful high definition!

“The Old Man and the Gun” is a true story about Forrest Tucker, a man who loved robbing banks. Forrest Tucker is portrayed in the movie by Robert Redford who alone makes the movie worth watching. Joining him in the cast are Casey Affleck, Sissy Spacek, and Danny Glover. A very good movie, a joy to view and well worth owning.

If this is Robert Redford's Stage Left Exit Right and heading into the sunset of retirement, then most of us will be sad to see him leave the Big Screen! An amazing actor, still has a full head of hair at his age ... he's a Golden Actor in my Book. Great storyline and very much True as well ... My wife and I loved this movie!

This is a great Robert Redford movie. He's getting old, but still reminds me of the Sundance Kid. He's charming while paired with Sissy Spacek. You just fall in love with his character. The story is a good one for Redford. He plays a criminal that just can't stop robbing banks. If you are a fan, this is a must see.

Set in the late 50's this slow paced movie shows how one can change their life only to revert back to their old ways. Not a popcorn time but interesting and will keep you engaged.

Even though I'm a big fan of Robert Redford, I wasnt expecting much from this movie. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Even though the movie has a couple of slow points, it moved along fast enough to keep you interested. Another great performance for Redford!

Based on a true story, Robert Redford is what makes this movie.. could be the last of his career which makes it more significant.
