Words cannot express how good the first season was. The story line was very fast paced and if you missed an episode you missed a lot. Most of the shows on the CW rarely can catch my interest because they are focusing on a teen audience but I loved watching this with my younger family members. The DVD's special features are not that good, which is typical for the first season of most shows. It has "5 featurettes" (comic-con panel, origins, backstory, history, and PaleyFest Panel) which are interesting but I have found more interesting and entertaining things on youtube. The unaired scenes are divided up for each episode. This is great because I can look at them right after I view each episode. I have had DVDs that put them together and I would have to guess which episode they would/could have been in. There is no gag reel. I hate this because I love to see the cast members when they are not so serious (the way their characters are). Perhaps, the gag reel would not have been as good as those from Supernatural so they left it out.

The Originals is a great show in that almost every character is a villain. They all have agendas and goals and will do whatever it takes to achieve them. Some have tragic origins, but they are all evil and that makes it more exciting. When heroes clash with evil, they worry about collateral damage and casualties, but villains can go all out which is fun to see. And what could be better than a four way war between vampires, witches, werewolves, and humans.

If you love vampires, you MUST buy this set of DVDs of Season 1 of "The Originals". The show is awesome and it will leave you waiting for the next season to start. When I watched the last DVD, I wanted more and didn't want it to end! Can't wait until the new episodes begin! I'll be buying "Season 2" when it comes out. You won't be disappointed if you purchase it!

Sometimes spin offs work and sometimes they don't. This one totally does. For fans of these characters from the vampire diaries, this show goes much more in depth with their backgrounds. Gives you a true sense of who the michaelsons were and are in New Orleans

The Originals is a exciting series that I will enjoy watching. It will be taking the plaxe of True blood for me, it is not as revealing as true blood therfore my kids can watch this with me which I really enjoy that.,

This show is stylishly set in New Orleans and entertains with the world of vampires, witches, and other creatures. Klaus, Elijah, & Rebekah provide constant amusement with all their misadventures.

This series is a spinoff from the Vampire Diaries. If you are/were a fan of the Vampire Diaries, you will absolutely love the Originals.

If you are a fan then you should purchase season 1 on dvd so you can watch it all over again from the beginning. Great show and characters. I can't wait for the second season.

I love this show! I only got to see about half of the season when it aired on TV, so I was so excited to see it on sale at Best Buy. Can't wait to finish watching it!

Some of the most interesting characters from The Vampire Diaries get their own show and it keeps you on the edge of your seat while you wait for what happens next.

This series, which I believe came from Vampire Diaries, appeals to those no longer in their Teens. Whereas Vampire Diaries seems geared to the younger generation, I feel this is to those still intrigued by the vampire stories but looking for something that is not as for the high school aged class of viewers.

The originals was full of twists turns plots and sub plots. It is very interesting.I have now purchased season 2, so I an hooked into the characters

All Vampire Diary fans should watch this show! I actually might like this one better. So fun to watch the Original family and their struggles.

Mixing fantasy with reality, this show proves that this genre has not been overly saturated with films and other TV shows.

I didn't get the chance to watch this show on tv every week so I can wait to start watching every episode now that it's on DVD

One of the best sci-fi TV series I enjoy the combination of vampire and werewolf ,witches series. Have to see it.

Recommend this tv series! Just wish there were more episodes per season.
