Great Movie ! ! This is a good movie. You will like it !!

It is understandable that viewers who became fans of The Outsiders in its original version are disappointed that this DVD contains only "The Complete Novel" . Since Warner is the king of double-dips, here's hoping they release a deluxe edition in the future that includes a second disc with the theatrical cut so that everyone can have their preferred viewing experience. For new viewers, however, I heartily recommend "The Complete Novel". I was impressed by The Outsiders in the shorter cut, but I wasn't truly moved by it until I saw "The Complete Novel". Warner's DVD is an impressive presentation and is highly recommended.

This is The Outsiders: The Complete Novel which is essentially the Director's Cut. I have the original theatrical version, and just recently became aware of this version. The 20+ minutes of extra footage and music give it a definite different feel, but I really liked it. Well worth owning both versions in my library.

Yes, this is the 'director's cut' with additional scenes. The most controversial change is replacement of the original score with rock tunes of the period, which was done by the director. It works better than the original IMHO but not for purists who insist on the original soundtrack.

For a movie that was made 33 years ago technically on the same year I was born, it definitely shines like crazy on my LG OLED E6 65 inch tv. No distortion issues from editing. It has great audio and decodes well. Its definitely a must have if you want to make your movie library grow.

I was listening to Rob Lowe’s audiobook and he talked a lot about this film and I thought since I haven’t watched the movie in over 30 years it would be great to. Reminisce. It was great just like I remember it!

This is my favorite movie of all time. The quality of the movie was great. I had a customer service representative from the store order the movie for me and he said it would take 7-10 business day to arrive. Had it in about 3. Most favorite movie of all time and it only cost me $5.99 plus tax. Can't find that at walmart.

If you watched this movie and remember your favorite parts, when you watch it again, you realize all those parts was the whole movie. Lol. It's rather short. But ideally makes it good because it doesn't get boring. The talent in this movie is unreal. I actually didn't knw Jessica Lane (find her very attractive), until this last time. Stay gold.

Great movie with an all star cast of very popular teen actors of the 80's. Pay good attention to the first 5 minutes of the movie. Always wanted to get this movie and Best Buy had it for a great price.

This movie is a classic. I grew up watching this movie and wanted to be a greaser. This bluray contains all of extra scenes that were never shown when it hit the theaters. The only thing I don't like about the extras is the music throughout the movie. Other than that the extra scenes are great!!

Coppola restored, restructured and improved upon his coming of age film but for whatever reason, this release does not include the original theatrical edition. It’s a great release with fantastic technical merits along with a host of supplemental material but it’s too bad that fans of the theatrical cut will need to track down a dvd of the film as well.

Typical 50s film about high school kids with the rich vs poor fighting. Some good performances from young actors in their early days. Tom Cruise has a small part. This is original movie.

This is one more of those classic 80's movies that is a must-have in your blu-ray library. It takes place in the mid-60's Oklahoma, and features an excellent cast.

I love this book, and I love the movie. Talk about an all star cast!! This movie brings me back to high school, the first place I read the book. Solid movie, should be in every collection.

Great story of underprivileged youth and the struggle of fitting into society. Cast includes legendary actors who all had full careers and some of them are unfortunately no longer with us. Very well directed and sometimes feels more like a play than a movie.

I bought this movie for my brother. He really liked it. He watched it over and over. He also enjoyed the special features considering it was an anniversary edition.

I think this was a book that was homework in maybe 8th or 9th grade. After reading and tests or reports, don't remember exactly. We watched it in class.

I have fond memories of this book and movie as a pre teen. Love seeing all of these guys get their start. PRAYING that they NEVER re do this. Could they improve the dialog and acting a bit? Maybe. But could never replace the feel and emotion this evokes.
