    Authentic and convincing retelling of the war in the Pacific during WWII. Contains strong character development although the 3 separate stories of different regiments made it somewhat difficult to follow. The hostile conditions of Pacific islands such as malaria, dysentery, and oppressive humidity added to the misery of the American soldier there. It's extremely graphic but well worth the viewing.

    This program does not try to whitewash the events in the Pacific Theater of WW II. The acting is first rate and the equipment and facilities are accurately portrayed. The story includes several key characters to give an indication of the different facets of this time in history. In addition the additional explanatory material rounds out the historical information.

    The Pacific, much like Band of Brothers, details the stories of different Marines throughout the Pacific campaign of WWII. The show itself is excellent and this set comes packed with extras.

    If you enjoy a WW 2 movie this is an excellent selection. The scenes and battles are so realistic. You really feel like you are there in real time.

    Love it. Great re-enactments cinematography just like band of brothers. Another great HBO production w/actual interviews from the real marines who the series portrays. Very good highly recommend! Didnt give 5 star cuz its not available in 4K.
