This series originally aired on HBO. It was so emotionally detailed, the way they show the life of these men. It will hit you like a punch to the stomach and open your heart to the heart break that our soldiers suffered during the war with Japan. It made me sad and proud for the men that gave their lives so we may enjoy our freedoms. There are parts that just break you down when we see these brave men come back the war and find they no longer fit in our society. Like square pegs in round rounds holes. You can't help but feel for the men that come back and scream in the night because of the terrors they lived during the war. At the end of the series Hanks and Spielberg flew that last remaining soldiers from the war with Japan. To Honor them for their service. It was heart breaking to see them some in wheel chairs. There are also some interviews with some of these soldiers talking about what really happened. I was moved to tears.

Like Band of Brothers before, it is a stellar mini series. Get it for sure.

This time ,the conflict with Japan in WW II, this is classic HBO filmmaking.

It just left me wanting more. More characters, more detail more...

I enjoyed this but it's ok. A little slower and NO digital copy.

Intense and not for the faint of heart, but a fantastic series.

This is a terrific series! It is even better than that great Band of Brothers. I had rented the DVDs once a few years back (when you could rent DVDs) and it had all kinds of extra information on them as to who wrote which WW II books (I wish Amazon Prime had a way to get this info also), from which this series came. So, I ended up buying 4 or 5 of these books, and the TV HBO series follows them rather closely, although some story is added for dramatic and storyline purposes. I wrote to Spielberg & Tom Hanks and asked them to make a similar series for the WW II Navy, and Fly boys. Of course, this would be much harder to recreate, but there is plenty of source material to make other fantastic WW II series. I give this series an A+, and the first nine also an A+, and the final one just an A! I give the Band of Brothers series an A.

Good movie to show what happened in the Pacific theater during WWII

Not as good as Band of Brothers but well worth the entry fee.

It's a very good 6-Disc box set with all the pacific war images on it. It came with it's very own unique tin box. Although it had a little dent along the spine but overrall very good.
