Great movie

Another great Warner Archive release

The only "odd" moments are crossfades from one scene to another. These opticals needed to be redone. The film itself, minus a couple of numbers omitted from the original Broadway production, is a pretty good representation of what you would have seen on stage. Doris Day (the newcomer to the project) is charming. John Raitt's is in excellent voice (although he lacks something as an actor, coming across a little awkward and uncomfortable). Lots of the rest are direct pulls from Broadway and are great characters. And, of course, there is Bob Fosse's choreography. Brilliant.
