Beautifully shot and acted, this is an outstanding film dealing with the Revolutionary War.

This movie is very good and I would watch it again and the quality was very good

The Patriot is one of my all-time favorite movies. It's one of those movies I can watch over and over again and not get sick of. Mel Gibson, as always, plays his historic role with incredible passion and really makes this movie come to life. I personally love era-based films and this one does a really good job of keeping everything as close to accurate for the time period as possible

I already owned The Patriot DVD in Blu-ray format and watched the movie many times. But, I am a 4K addict. So, I purchased the movie in 4K because I deserve to watch the movie in ultra high definition resolution and HDR (high dynamic range). I believe there is a discernable difference in video & audio. The movie, although tearfully sad and bloody at times, is wonderful action of the Revolutionary War. It is a favorite movie of mine.

I'm not a big fan of most of Roland Emmerich's work, but between the struggle for freedom and independence, and Gibson's and Ledger's stellar performances, this film is my personal 3rd favorite movie of all time (after Braveheart and Gladiator). I am so happy that Sony decided to give this classic the 4K treatment early on in the format's age. A worthy upgrade over the standard Blu-ray release for over a decade ago.

man i used to dislike this movie because it looked boring and it didn't really look appealing whatsoever ended up buying it because it was on sale and after watching it from start to finish through and through without a break i LOVED IT!!!! man mel gibson carried this whole movie and well the story was still good but gibson is the highlight

Another excellent Mel Gibson film. In retrospect, when all the politically correct angst over his drunken rant is forgotten, Gibson will be recognized as one of the most talented actor/directors of his generation. He is a true storyteller, and captures the essence of the American revolution through this fictional tale.

This is one of those movies you can watch every year and does not get old. Or span how you want. Truly a classic. Only if Mel Gibson could have continued to act like this and braveheart his whole career without the gap. 4K version looks how it should and still crazy that is does when this movie came out so long ago. Did not own DVD or blu ray so this was definitely worth it to me.

First off the movie includes several extra scenes not seen in theaters. This movie is in no way historically accurate but a fun ride nonetheless. Lots of battles, strong story and great cast. I will say this movie is a very small amount of gore as should be expected in war. One of Mel Gibson and Heath Ledgers best movies. Blu ray quality far exceeds dvd standards. Very happy.

It's a solid film but more emphasis on the Blu-ray transfer. It varies when it comes to converting certain movies to Blu-ray quality from the 1980's through 1990's. And to a degree early 200's, but the quality of picture and sound stand out in particular in this Blu-ray conversion.

This is the epitome of the films of the patriotic era, in the birth of our democracy. The well rounded characters, and the superb casting just added to the experience. It was just one of the best period films that I've seen. Viva Liberty.

The Patriot is a film I had been meaning to see for a long time. I finally got the opportunity, and I was very impressed with it. It gives the viewer an account of an American family in the days preceding the Revolution. Kudos!

Fine exciting American Revolution period piece. Strong acting by Mel Gibson who is a shockingly good fighter / leader for an avowed pacifist. Does what he must for family. First time I became aware of Heath Ledger, who did a credible job, too. The Blu-Ray delivered great visuals and sound throughout. An immersive experience.

Is The Patriot an all time classic like Braveheart... no. In fact it is not really even close, but do I enjoy the heck out of it. Yes indeed I do! Looks great in 4k and glad I picked it up. Is really a 4 star and a half a star bump because I personally love the movie, which somehow rounds up to 5 stars haha

My opinion; this is the best film Mel Gibson has ever done; it gives us a glimps into what it must have been like for our founding Fathers , patriots of their time and their families to fight against the tierany of the day, and the fight continues, god bless America, and thank God for our Millitary.

In 1776 South Carolina, widower and legendary war hero Benjamin Martin finds himself thrust into the midst of the American Revolutionary War as he helplessly watches his family torn apart by the savage forces of the British Redcoats. Fighting to protect his family's freedom and his country's independence, Martin discovers the pain of betrayal, the redemption of revenge and the passion of love.

Had to purchase this in 4K when I realized I did not already own this film. The sound an picture quality are great. I am a sucker for these type of films. It was great to see some of the cast when they were much younger in this film. Highly recommended!

Tragedy and circumstance make a good man do terrible things. Shows the price of freedom is high. Makes you respect what the military do to protect our freedom and what we fight to protect
