The movie it's self is great. The non-3D version is just beautiful on blu-ray. The 3-D glass's bad, the left eye or the red side is way to dark. It makes way to hard to enjoy the movie.

If you don't have blue ray get it it will knock your socks off

My kids love the Polar Express and they only had it in DVD format so I went to pick it up in Blu Ray and saw the 3D version so decided on it. Excited to let my kids watch this in 3D we popped our usual popcorn and got ready to enjoy the show, but after about 5 minutes of trying to watch the 3D version my kids were asking to watch it in 2D. I have a 58 inch Panasonic Plasma that is 1080p and I attempted to adjust the color settings, but got no where. I even made sure that to room was as dark as possible. After we watched it in 2D I kept playing with the settings and could not get it looking good. Some scenes are excellent, but the majority of the 3D scenes are unbearable. The great thing is that the movie is excellent in 2D, but do not buy this if you are looking for a 3D experience. I did not expect the effect to be as great at the ones in IMAX, but at least bearable and this was not the case.

My fiance and I both loved this movie when it was released and we still do. When we heard it was coming out on Blu Ray and on top of that 3-D we were beyond excited. Well that excitment was crushed when we got home, put it on and were almost given instant headaches from the old school red and blue 3-d glasses and the fact that no matter how hard we tried to see it, it just was nowhere near 3-d quality. We sat there contemplating whether or not it was just us or if the 3-d aspect of it sucked that bad and we came to the conclusion that it was definately the latter. So after a half hour of trying hard to like it we switched it to 2-d (thank god for blu ray for having that option) and saw how in 1080p it was almost 3-d itself. Needless to say the very next day I went back to the store I purchased it from and changed it for the regular blu ray version (which was $5 cheaper than the 3-d version and totally worth the purchase, 5 stars for that version.) It was very sad that it did not work out because such an amazing holiday movie with such great animation would be a no brainer to have as 3-d but unfortunately it just is not worth the headache and strain. So save your $5 and go ahead and get the regular Blu Ray version of the movie. Truuuuuuuuuuust me and thank me later, or don't trust me and let me know so I could say I told you so.

This classic is a movie all my children have loved.

I ORDERED WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A 3D VERSION DID NOT GET THAT

I already owned this movie for some time, but thought I would love to see it in 3D. The movie itself is a timeless classic. However, do not waste time and money on 3D if you already own it on blueray. The 3D is awful, could barely tell it was even a 3D movie. Maybe 5 minutes of noticeable 3D scenes in the entire movie. I had high hopes the scary train rides would be very 3D active, but not the case. Again....wonderful movie, 3D version is a waste of time and money. You will end up taking off the glasses and watching it with out.

Price was right for a holiday gift so I bought it...

My wife and I were so excited to bring this home to our 3 year old. This is his favorite movie and he damaged his 2-D version last week. What a disappointment when we dawned the old school 3-D glasses (that was fun), but the second the movie began it was ridiculous. There is nothing 3-D about this movie, only blurr (even with the glasses on). Do not waste your money, stick with the 2-D version or the 2-D Blue Ray version. Both are much better then the wanna be 3-D version. I would really like my money back. Luckily the normal version comes w/ the 3-D version.
