I really like this film and I enjoyed all the previous fims in this franchise. This one is more an action film then the previous releases, it just does not let up. It also brings politics into the film because the founders of the purge want to get rid of a politician that wants to end the purge. The movie has a few exciting scenes and some good characters.

This sequel picks up a few years after the last film. Our hero is now the chief of security for a presidential candidate running on a platform to end "The Purge". Needless to say the new founding fathers are none pleased and are hard at work to end the female candidates life. Lots of over the top action and gore. A solid cast and excellent production values make this a crowd pleaser. Hopefully this isn't the last in the series, but if it is they ended on a high note.

To me the first one was the best, but then again it's always that way when it comes to movies. I'm looking forward to seeing the prequel to the first movie, so I had to get this one out of the way so I'm all caught up. Couple of my friends watched it one night, and it wasn't actually bad. I like it

The Purge: Election Year is a surprisingly good third entry into The Purge saga. I am thankful that the same writer/director and the other behind the scenes people keep returning as well. To me at least, all three films have the same style and flavor. If you are a fan of the series, I would definitely give it a go!

The premise is a bit of a stretch but this isn't a "warning sign" movie. It's a visualization of an extreme solution to problem. I'm sure you can pull out some social commentary but turn off your brain and enjoy the ride. You don't need to watch the first two, or watch any of them in order to enjoy this.

I know its a trilogy but why do I have a feeling that this movie looks closer and closer to true life when you are reading in between the lines on this part of the trilogy??? IS there some type of agenda being pushed? If so this movie has went from the suspense/horror territory to partial documentary.

DVD quality is still good. Loved the purge movies!

I've never seen the first Purge film and have no interest in seeing it, but I really enjoyed Purge: Anarchy, and Election Year is better than Anarchy. Given the current state of American politics, Election Year's harsh and cruel setting is an example of something not to aspire to.

I really liked The Purge: Election Year. My favorite in the series was the first one, butthe other two ddefinitely do not disappoint. The best thing about the series in my opinion, is the creativity behind the masks and the different groups of psychos. Definitely a good watch.

This film, which was done in my part of the town, Woonsocket, RI. This is how a film should be shot. It was a very low budget film, that looks like it costs ten million. The director got it right with the cast, and the great script. The action, and action is superb, and the suspense is awesome. If you like the first two, pick this one up, you won't be disappointed.

Another good Purge movie. Frank Grillo is great again and Elizabeth Mitchell as well in the role as an anti-Purge senator. I wouldn't mind seeing a fourth movie in this series, but it might become boring unless the writing goes in other interesting directions.

i have seen all the purge movies and they was very good and whoever would've seen this twist in the franchise coming. But good thing this is a movie and not real life cause this will make you never trust any candidate regardless if they was running down the street.

very well put together it depicts the cruelty and violant tendencies of a future society where anarchy reins legally for 12 hours centers around survival of one senator who wants to repeal this savagery and her determination for survival. definately adult viewing

Good follow up to purge one and two this one will leave you wanting more as it has different aspects of the movie while the first was in the house the second was on the street and this one basically tells the story of trying to stop the purge everyone goes nuts

The Purge trilogy is absolutely FAR from great. I am not very fond of the films myself. However, I keep in this mainly because I love the idea of it. Watch the film, think about it, although most of it may be highly unlikely (or is it?) Think about the president and all of our world's beloved politics and government, coming to the agreement of an annual purge. A brief, 12 hour long, day of the year where everybody can just kill each other, or do whatever it is they'd like, with all the tools provided for them to make these things possible. This act is negatively helpful to many people. Yet it works in the film. I love the idea, and when I watch the film, remembering that is the idea, I genuinely just get sucked in.

My favorite in the purge series. Really expands on the world the series takes place in goes into the politics of what makes something as crazy as the purge even possible. Action and suspense keeps things interesting for people watching.

With the third installment of the Purge movies, you have an election take place with all of the other elements you have come to enjoy! There are a few returning character's from Purge:Anarchy who play pivotal roles to try and change the gruesome outcome.

This is the third in a series of movies about people saving up their aggression for a year, then being able to release it all legally. Everything is fair game (except the leadership who is exempt) including robbery, assault, murder.

I thought this was one of the best Purge movies made. Love the movie. Was very thrilling and exciting throughout the whole movie. I recommended it to all of my friends. Watched it with my girlfriend who found it to be very thrilling and exciting too.

This is one of the few movie series that has actually gotten better with each film. The first one set the stage and the second one built on and expanded the scope. This one seems to coincide with the current political climate and doesn't overdo it.
