This is one of the greatest action movies ever made. Beautifully filmed and choreographed, The Raid inspired many of 2014's and 2015's best action scenes, including ones from John Wick and Netflix's Daredevil series. The picture quality and sound are great and this movie turned me onto many other foreign martial arts films, including The Raid 2 and Oldboy. Great movie!

As a story it ain't bad but the real reason to watch this movie is for the action. From the weapons to the martial arts used in this movie, everything is top notch and a trill to watch. This movie is one of my favorite action movies of all time. The intensity does not stop for the entire movie and the action scenes are some of the best of all time. I make all of my friends watch this movie because it is truly one of the best action movies ever made. It is a movie that can be watched multiple times and is still as good as ever.

Wall to wall violence, heart pounding, and adrenaline pumping action throughout the entire movie, with little to no dialogue; this movie appeals to a certain type of movie patron that prefer characters speaking with their fists. Many heads will smashed, and many apartment's will be ruined, seeing as this movie is almost like a video game, as two "teams" will fight to the death over a muli-storied appartment building.

This is one of the best action films to come out in the last few years. If you are going to buy this movie, you might as well get it in a cool steelbook. This is a bestbuy exclusive that will probably go out of print one day, and it is a grant price. This movie is awesome.. Well worth buying for your collection.

Loved the action. Crazy Crazy good fighting scenes that reminded me of Tony Ja fight scenes. Gotta see this movie. Story honestly confused me at first so I watched it a few times. It doesn't even matter because the action is so good, everything else is in the background when you are watching the fight scenes.

Has there been a better action movie in the last 10 years? I don't think so. Take the last 30 minutes of John Woo's 'Hard Boiled' and imagine 100 minutes of the same intensity and action. Is it over the top? Heck yeah, but in a "I can't believe what I just saw...how did they do that" kind of way. If you love action you will love this movie!

The Raid doesn't mess around. There's very little exposition as you are thrown into the action right from the start. And the action is brutal. This is a movie with a small scope and small cast of characters, but it is all done so extremely well that you don't even notice. For action fans, for martial arts fans, this is a must-see.

The movie takes place right after the first one ends. Expect the same action & intensity as the first one, but even better. The cinematography is more artful this time around making the movie feel epic. I would recommend watching the first movie if you have not seen it already before jumping into this one. I highly recommend this movie!!

I saw a trailer for the Raid 2 and was shocked I had never heard or seen the original. I immediately went out and bought this movie and was not disappointed at all. You can watch with subtitles or dubbed. We watched dubbed version and it did a great job. I haven't watched it subtitled yet. Great fight scenes and a great movie all around

I had seen this film initially before seeing The Raid 2 and if I'd have written this then, I'd would have garnered 5 stars (the Raid 2 just raised the bar). This is still a great martial arts action film directed by a man who understands cinematography and how to shoot action and starring Iko Uwais, a skilled fighter who also choreographs most of the action. Once the plot kicks in, there's loads of pretty graphic violence.

The Raid comes in an awesome steelbook with great artwork, but the real treasure is what's on the disk. A police officer is sent in with a SWAT-like team to take down a drug dealer. The tables get turned on them and they are hunted in a huge building. Lots of guns and martial arts in this one! Perfect for action fans!

American action films have nothing on this Indonesian blockbuster. The fights are some of the best I have seen in quite some time, and the characters are pretty interesting. Character development is done through action instead of stilted dialogue, so the film has a relentless pace. Can't recommend this movie enough. A must own!

The best fighting choreography to date for me. I can watch it over and over and over again and be mesmerized by the fluidity of the fighting. No robotic, choppy, stop-and-go fighting that you see from "untrained" people trying to portray a fight scene. Simplistic story carried out by the brutality on screen.

I thought the actions scenes were great, but totally unrealistic. The scene where the 2 brothers fight against the bad guy were great, but if that was a real fight, it would have been over in 2 minutes. The blows to the face and the body would have incapacitated the victims and they never would have been able to defend/attack after being kicked/punched in the face. It was a great action movie, but not realistic.

With top notch fight choreography and intriguing story the Raid dishes out a great action movie. Even the soundtrack delivers. If you are looking for a great action movie or an action movie junkie you have to see this movie. The pacing was spot on! There's just so much I can say about this movie. Watch It!!!

What are you favorite action movies....the top 3? Mine were the Matrix (pick one), Batman Begins, The Avengers....and put these together.....and that's RAID....just full of great action. The new one comes out in theatres in a few months...can't wait.

If you havent seen The Raid already or know anything about it it is a semi-indie martial arts film set almost entirely in one apartment building. The story revolves around a group of police officers or enter the building to bring down some criminal and are then barricaded inside. Action and choreography are great, plot is negligible. definitely worth watching as is the sequel

Sure the movie isnt in native english it has two options to watch it with english dubbed voices or with subtitles. The plot is minimal but wow is the action superb. The fight scenes in this movie are top notch and super exciting. If your into action movies do yourself a favor and watch this over and over

Five minutes into the movie, you find out that you're watching a movie that's like no other action movie you've seen. Unlike the sequel, it isn't very story heavy, but what's there is pretty good. What you want from this movie are incredible action sequences and you won't be disappointed.
