"Real Royal Albert Hall" concert

This is the concert where Dylan played an acoustic set and came back for an electric set with his band, The Hawks. They later changed their name to The Band. The title is in quotes because it was mislabeled and in fact took place at Manchester's Free Trade Hall on May 17, 1966. The fans hated that he 'sold out' and went electric. Many heckled and yelled. One even called Dylan Judas. After the someone yelled "Judas!", there is clapping, followed by more heckles. Dylan then says "I don't believe you", then after a pause, "You're a liar." This is a concert that you shouldn't be without.

Excellent 2 CD version of Bob Dylan's legendary Royal Albert Hall Concert from May 26, 1966.
Dylan is in great voice backed up by a band that would later go out on their own as the legendary "the Band", consisting of Robbie Robertson, Rick Danko, Richard Manuel, and Garth Hudson. The drummer for this concert was Mickey Jones, Levon Helm had not yet joined the Band at this point.
Excellent sound quality and songs covering Dylan's career up to that point including a finale of "Like a Rolling Stone". Highly recommended.

At long last-the REAL Royal Albert Hall concert

For a half a century, fans have listened to bootlegged copies of what was allegedly the legendary Albert Hall Concert. But it has been learned that the legend was false and that concert was actually from the Manchester Free Hall. This is the real deal, at last. With the best possible sound available, two discs give fans the long awaited real deal! A great look at Dylan during his 1966 peak!

Good songs. Acoustic first disk is very good. Second disc is electric and not recorded well for high volume music.. Very difficult to hear. I guess they wanted you to have the same experience as the audience. Only kidding. I'm sure they did the best they could with the recordings and equipment they had at the time. Perhaps this had something to do with the poor response to the shows from those in attendance. especially with an audience used to low volume acoustic shows.

I always thought that the 1966 tour of Bob’s was his finest; still young & writing great songs, yet experienced enough, & backed by a tight band, to be performing at a level that went beyond his years. This Royal Albert Hall show was smoking from beginning to end, & is highly recommended!

Powerful, not as good as Bootleg Series 1966

Especially for fans of Sixties Dylan, this is powerful, dramatic, exciting...The solo disc is often moving and beautiful, but the disc with the Hawks is some of the most intense live rock ever. This concert is not as well recorded as the Bootleg Series 1966 concert (in Manchester UK), unfortunately, and some performances, especially Tom Thumb's Blues and Visions of Johanna, are rushed, a little too frantic, in comparison to Manchester.

True Dylan fans know this story. This album was recorded on the same tour as the 'Judas' concert which was mistakenly attributed to Royal Albert Hall. This album has a killer version of Like a Rolling Stone.

This is the first legitimate release of a concert that has been bootlegged often, chronicling that moment when Dylan went from being just a folk singer to rockin' it with an electric guitar.

This is one sampling from a new Dylan box set of live performances in England in the early 60s -- excellent sound, great set list, and shows early signs of what his career will become.

Great live performance by a musician at his creative peak, as a result of this fine listening experience, I bought the entire box set of Dylan's 1960's concerts.

A great live album. A nice two disc set to listen to. There's a 36 disc box set of the same show. This is a much easier listen.

This is a great concert. Both the acoustic and electric sides are excellent with a good sound considering the age of the show.
