  • Well adapted Sherlock Holmes

    Anyone who follows Sherlock Holmes will have their favorite. In the movies there was Basil Rathborn and Nigel Bruce. Granada television gave us Jeremy Brett and first David Burke then a seamless, thanks to time betweenseries, Edward Hardwicke. Brett does a wonderful job as Holmes and Hardwicke plays Watson more as written than Bruce. The beginning story,"The Empty House", brings Holmes back to life after Doyle grew tired and killed of the character only to be forced by readers to bring him back. It is easy to believe Brett is Holmes and his portrayal is still years away from being affected by illness. I enjoyed this series as well as the "Adventurea' I would recommened to anyone who would like to try Holmes or who is already a fan.
