Awesome price great movie can't wait for part 2 to come on bluray

This was at the time one horror move that did and still dose scare me.

This is a good movie to watch with the lights off. Scary!!

After looking at this blu-ray more closely, I'm pretty sure this a bootleg item. The back cover font is low quality and the disc looks like it was duplicated unofficially. I would not recommend buying this item from here.

So Dreamworks FINALLY got around to putting this movie on Blu-ray. It was much too long in coming, but it was worth the wait because they digitally remastered it and it looks FANTASTIC! Mind-blowingly fantastic! It makes my DVD version look simply pathetic. I had probably seen the movie over a dozen times by the time that I watched this Blu-ray version and I was noticing things that I had never seen before! It also helped that this was the original theater aspect ratio as opposed to my 4:3 ratio DVD, but I was seeing textures, colors, and detail that I hadn't even known were there before! Sound? Utterly awesome! They remastered the soundtrack as well for the Blu-ray release and it really makes Hans Zimmer's score stand out! I also was noticing sounds and nuances in the music that I have never heard before. Is it worth getting? HECK YES! Worth every cent and then some. If you already own a DVD version? Yep, sure is. Has TONS of advantages over the DVD version and although it's light is special features, the movie alone is worth the purchase price. If you have never owned it before? Now is your chance to own an awesome horror film on the glory of Blu-ray! Don't miss this chance! Do yourself a favor and buy it right now! It's hard to go wrong with this version of The Ring.

You might think the Ring movie is another typical horror movie, and probably not as good as the original Japanese movie 'Ring', but thats where you're wrong, and have to congratulate it, for keeping what made the original horror film, that special, and adding to it, to make it even better. The plot is about a mysterious video tape, and if you watch it, a women will ring you up, and tell you that you only have 7 days to live. The neice of the reporter Rachel Keller (Naomi Watts) happens to watch this video, and dies. Rachel wants to find out the truth about the video tape, after hearing rumours about suspicious deaths linked to the video tape. She finds the tape and watches it...she recieves the same phone call...and suddenly she's out to save herself before its too late. Then the video falls into her sons hand, so with the help of her ex-husband, they try and uncover the truth, by using clues from the video, to save them all. I can guarrantee this film will leave you gripping your chair with suspense! The effects are heart throbbing and spine-tingling, which will leave you too scared for words after watching it! This is the best horror/thriller movie made!! If you haven't already seen it, buy it!! You won't regret it...Just don't pick up the phone after watching it...(!)

Like all masterpieces in the horror genre, this film succeeds not on the basis of gore and slash, of which there is little, but on the basis of the single most important element for a great horror film--atmosphere. The Ring uses unusual, creepy imagery (the twisted photos, the "death" film), color and shadows, unexpected episodes (the horse on the ferry, the coughing up of the medical patch), spooky settings (the remote island, the well), and truly frightening plot twists to keep the suspense and fear factor high. Some critics panned this film in favor of Ringu, but I can only guess that they were afflicted by the "if it's less popular or rarer it must be better" syndrome. I saw Ringu and found it rather absurd (and not intentionally), and not much in the way of frightening, either. Sometimes bigger budget films do get it right. The Ring is one of them.

I should start by saying I don't particularly like scary movies (I like the idea of them but almost always regret watching them), however I had heard this one was pretty good so thought I'd give it a try. I wasn't impressed - the story line is far-fetched (as is typical with scary movies) but overall it just didn't feel smart like I was hoping it would. A disappointment.

My wife and I watch a fail number of movies and we are usually disappointed by and end of laughing at most "scary" movies. This movie was well done and honestly, scared us pretty good. For a great joke, lend this to a friend to watch and call them siting only "seven days". Funny stuff.
