Unfortunately I cannot give this movie a 0, though I'd like to.
This movie shredded about two hours of my life that I can never reclaim. I don't know why anyone who has seen this movie would even imagine anything good about it. I spent the entire first half waiting for the movie to begin, then I spent the other half waiting for something to actually happen. I was let down on both counts. Do not watch this movie. Save those two hours of your life for something that has meaning and value, neither of which include this movie. I would rather watch Open Water again than to ever have this movie play on my TV, even if I'm not there.
Sorry for my rant.
Synopsis of film. Father and son on road. No food. Sick. The End.

I love Viggo Mortensen. I looked forward to seeing this movie. I like post-apocalyptic movies.
I hated this movie. The father is a spineless, whining martyr. The mother is an uncaring harridan. The boy was good. There were parts that didn't stink but I was completely unable to develop pathos for any character in the film except that of Guy Pierce's family. Had the film been about them, I think I would have liked it.
I don't know if this was bad direction, poor scripting, lousy acting or just a combination of mediocrity but save the two hours of your life and watch 'The Road Warrior' or 'Tank Girl'.

My biggest regret was that I didn't see Russ3103's review before I bought and watched this movie. It's extremely slow for the most part and depressing as heck.
If you like depressing movies that seem to go on forever, this one will be great for you. Otherwise I'd avoid it.
