The Rockford Files is a show we used to watch so are glad we found it at Best Buy.

James carries the production. Jim Rockford is the perfect anti-hero.

Having the entire series makes binge watching so much easier and they are just as good as the first time I watched them on TV so many years ago.

Awesome episodes that brings back cars, clothes and beautiful pics of how things were back then. It's like a time machine on DVD.

These DVDS take me back to many great memories and the events of those times which are long gone and cherished.

While browsing at Best Buy I noticed the Rockford Files on the shelf at a very reasonable price. Rockford was one of my favorite television shows with a great actor in James Garner and the wonderful character actor Noah Beery Jr. as his father. The DVD's were standard quality and the playback is good. The packaging is a little cheap but I can live with that to acquire the entire Rockford series at such a low price. There were several other series available as well. With new technology and streaming services the cost of owning your favorite shows on DVD is becoming more reasonable as people turn to other methods to enjoy there entertainment.

The quality is up to DVD standard to include the audio and color. Standard screen format. Have had no issues with any of the DVD's.

James Garner plays a private detective in southern California who charges $200 per day (plus expenses) but always ends up getting short-changed. During the 1970s, when this was filmed, that was quite an income, though not worth it given how often the protagonist was beaten, held hostage, and nearly murdered, and his friends and relatives were often beaten or killed by thugs and Mafiosi whose enterprises were threatened by the PI's sleuthing. Sometimes the acting doesn't quite hold up against today's standards, though it was typical of the period's style and trends, but it's also a charming glimpse into the landmarks, fashions, and dialects of Los Angeles and Las Vegas of 40 years prior. This package contains every single episode and is a great place to start for anyone (like me) who's caught the occasional episode in syndication and would like to see them all in sequence.

I'm only into Season 2 of the Rockford Files, but I have to say that I'm pretty happy with the purchase of this series. For oldies, but goodies like me who remember watching the RF when it was on, it's a nice trip down Memory Lane. The stories were solid (although a little draggy in the first season), the co-stars recognizable, and James Garner as good as it gets for likeability. My only gripe is that a couple of the shows from the 1st season were poorly edited (for time, I suppose) so more than a few minutes were cut from some episodes. Overall though, I'm very pleased with the purchase and the purchase price provided by Best Buy (sorry for the alliteration).

A great, complete TV series starring James Garner at a daily deal price! The series was well acted and the scripts were well written and often thought provoking. Great deal!

I grew up watching this tv show and I enjoy watching these dvd's. If you like a good detective show you will really enjoy this series. You can't go wrong buying the series.
