Owning two dogs, I could definitely put my mind in the state of an animal, and this movie did it for me. I laughed just about through the whole thing. (Of course there had to be a couple of sad parts). The voices matched up perfectly to parts played. This movie is great for any child or adult. As an adult it brings the child out in us anyway. The animation of the characters is wonderful!

One of my best purchase products that I have done through time, in this case,I bought it for my grandkids,and at the end the hole family had a blast watching this animated movie,at the end everyone was laughing and had a very good quality time with the family,we haven't had a quality time with my grandkids.I can not wait for the next animated movie and hope is as much fun this one was

It's a nice, light adventure of the type we all kind of hope was secretly true when we were kids. That our pets, aside from pining away waiting for us to come home each time we have to leave them, can occupy themselves in fun and sweet ways until our return. For the protagonist, Max, that cycle is disrupted with the arrival of a new housemate determined to...throw his weight around. It sets of a series of mishaps that leads them, and the rest of their friends, on an adventure to show just what makes up the bonds of loyalty, friendship, and family.

Many movie say they are for both kids and adults but this one is EXCELLENT! Has that sly humor that the entire family will enjoy and many real laugh out loud moments! The animation is stunning and top notch and the actors really give each character a personality of their own so that you don't imagine the actor but the characters. Pick up a copy and enjoy again and again! A+++

Hesitant to buy this because of the mixed reviews. Bit the bullet and ordered it. I watched it with my 2 boys, ages 10 and 12. We all found it to be cute and funny. And yes, while there is some cartoon animal violence, it was nothing over the top or extreme (in my opinion). I can see how it might be scary for young children, but for older kids, its definitely a great movie!

Bought this movie off the recommendation of a family friend and liked it very much. The animation is smooth and details and color show well on the Blu-ray. The characters are lively and varied with good balance and details that give them personality. Some of the animated city outlines are done well and show well on the screen. The sound is good and lively but mainly controlled except in the initial presentations of the "secret" lives of the pet characters. A unique idea that approached well in the story and expanded upon. Good family fun.

As an animal lover who believes we are responsible for those critters we take into our homes, this movie is great to reinforce that thought. It is good for adults or older children as it mimics the characteristics of various animals perfectly. There is enough action and cuteness to keep kids entertained. I would suggest 6 and older for optimum appreciation of the movie.

After seeing some main press criticism I was reluctant to buy this but my wife wanted to see it. Since I love 3D I went along. As long as you don't expect anything other than fun entertainment, it is a great film. They nailed the pet behaviors, have lots of pop culture jokes and it has an excellent 3D presentation with some great in-your-face effects and real depth.

Saw this movie in the theatre and just knew I had to have it to own in my home. This is a movie about pets and what they think and feel when their owners leave them to go to work each day. I found myself laughing out loud a lot during the film as it's targeted for all ages. This dics has 3 cute short films added into it. A must have for any family for movie night!

We don't purchase many Blu-ray's these days; however when we do they MUST include a digital copy otherwise we will NOT purchase it. And when I mention digital copy I specifically mean via iTunes. This movie shows great on our projector in the media room and more importantly it downloaded quick, easy, and free via iTunes. I wasn't and I'm still not a big fan of this movie; however the children watch this often. We would recommend this for the children but only when it's on sale (that's true for any Blu-ray in our opinion).

I had no idea what I was starting when I purchased this Blue Ray!! Our grandson had been absolutely hooked on the movie "The Good Dinosaur." But, when he saw "The Secret Life of Pets" that all changed!! He could not get enough of this movie...literally! But, the story is great, the colors and action are fantastic. We also enjoyed it the first five times...

I own a miniature dachshund of the black and tan variety. When I started seeing trailers for this movie, I could not wait for this movie to come out. They perfectly capture the behavior of animals in a comical way. The plot is obvious and predictable, but the journey is great fun. As much as I loved the doxie, the bunny stole the show. Well worth the cost!

Takes place in a Manhattan apartment building. Max, the terrier, has an idyllic life until his owner takes in Duke, a stray whom Max instantly dislikes. They have to put their quarrels behind when they find out that an adorable white bunny named Snowball is building an army of lost pets determined to take revenge. Cute movie with good animation.

Since the kids and I have a love of pets we thought this would be a great movie for our collection. From beginning to end the movie kept us laughing and the storyline was also great. Teaching kids to get to know someone and their story and understand that people can have enough love to give to them and others. Great movie and a good buy.

OK, so I'm over 60 and I love a good cartoon. Well this was a WONDERFUL movie. The animation is flawless, and the story has a good flow. And my husband and I laughed and laughed all the way through it. Bought 2 copies of it - one for us and one for the "grandkids". They loved it too. One of the best animated features I own. (Yes I said "own.")

I first saw this movie in the theater and both my wife and I really enjoyed it on the big screen. We have a 7.1 system in a 19'x13' room and the sound and the picture were both excellent through our system. There are a number of excellent characters in the movie, and the writing and behaviors of the pets really bring out the humor (both child and adult) as intended both in representing real behaviors and in parodying those behaviors. I recommend this movie for anyone that enjoys animated comedies.

This film was quite the pleasant surprise for me and I'll admit that I bought it purely for my wife and kids. Well, I found the movie to be just as much fun. The characters were well done and the movie was well-paced. Yes, the film was predictable (which kids-oriented film isn't?) but it was humorous and annoyance-free to see things unfold for the adults present in the room. It's not the best movie out there (my actual rating is a 3.5 out of 5) but it's worth a view just the same. Recommended.

My two year old granddaughter absolutely loves this movie. It has become her daily request. I am an animal lover. It's fun to imagine the antics that my pets get into while I'm away. My granddaughter and I watch this movie over and over with enjoyment each time.

"The Secret Life of Pets" follows the life of NY canine "Max", who gets himself into a world of trouble while out on a walk. Rescued from a pound bound truck by a bunny, "Max" is pressured into joining an unwanted pet gang whose goal is to make the humans who treated them poorly pay. Full of plenty of laughs and a fun, upbeat soundtrack!

You are never too old for cartoons! Such a cute movie to watch as a family. Pet lovers will love this movie! Its a story of pet finding his human and then having to share with another pet. The two pets go on an adventure of trials trying to get back to their human all while their pet friends race to find them and bring them back home.
