Did not get a chance to see in theaters but glad I was able to pickup and finally see. Acting and portrayal was very well done. The plot line is not washy and speaks volumes of the human spirit and differences.

Del Toro does it again! Best film I saw last year -- del Toro has an ability that few directors have of being able to balance the drama (and comedy & romance) of a great story with stunning visuals. And the blu-ray looks & sounds beautiful!

The shape of water is the best movie of the year and it shows!! Perfect angles and dark story line but it’s one of my all time classics. The director of hellboy and other monster classics just hit a bullseye.

I know this movie may not be everyone's cup of tea but I personally thought it was great. The acting, the cinematography and the ambiance really set the tone. If you are into movies that make you think as the story evolves this is one for you.

An excellent film capturing the Cold War-vibes of the early 1960s. Some sex but I guess it was important to the plot. Interesting look at homosexuality as well. Recommended.

I avoided this at first because I thought it was just a love story. It is but it’s also a great thriller. As a big classic monster movie fan it has great creature of the black lagoon vibes.

DelToro writes a love letter to cinema, the disaffected, the color green and yes, the shape of water. Sally Hawkins is absolutley stunning. Only slightly over the top at moments. Not for everyone, but if it's for you it really is for you.

NIce movie to watch with someone other than that it was ok

Wow, this is a wonderful film that really impressed me when I first saw it in the theaters. I have watched it a number of times since and I still feel that this was one of the best films of last year and deserved all of its accolades.

I loved everything about this film; the performances, score, production design, creature effects, etc. were all excellent! It had a fun, delightful tone but with moments of tension, weight, and violence round it out. Highly recommended!

This won't be everyone's cup of tea. Del Torro is one of my favorite movie makers and he never fails to make an interesting film. The Shape of Water is another fairy tale type of story that unfortunately falls short of Pan's Labyrinth. Overall It was worth seeing, but it is a bit.... odd.

Takes a good hour to figure out where it's going, by then I'm in for it and have to see how it ends. Will likely sell this DVD because it's not worth watching a second time.

A pleasant film but beyond what I thought it would be about. Visually the movie has a great atmosphere and the sub-human character is stunning. I really liked the film, but don't expect it to be a picture about monsters.

The story, acting and visual effects are outstanding, you will feel as though you are actually in an alternate reality that looks like the '60's. The good, the bad and the ugly are well personified due to adept casting.

This is an excellent movie good acting good writing good directing and all-around enjoyable watch this is when filmmakers get it right they don't do it often but they definitely did it this time

At a top secret research facility in the 1960s, a lonely janitor forms a unique relationship with an amphibious creature that is being held in captivity. With a buildup like that, I was not sure of what was in store, but I really enjoyed this movie. A modern-day fairytale.
