A classic film that will still be talked about years from now looks even better in 4k and the delivery arrived even earlier than expected in perfect condition

“Remember, Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.” Sometimes I think I subconsciously pick movies to rewatch hundreds of times because they bring me some semblance of comfort. I relate to them in more ways than I can possibly admit. The Shawshank Redemption is one of those movies with an extremely high rewatch value, in my opinion. I’ve lost count the number of times I’ve seen it. I also know that sometimes when I’m blue I do multiple viewings of it in a short period of time. It never fails to put a tear in my eye when Andy Dufresne rips that sewage stained t-shirt from his skin and lets the rain wash everything away as he meets his freedom. I feel sorry for people who have never seen this film. So, if you’re reading this and other reviews in an attempt to gather up enough positive feedback to make a final judgment call in whether you should watch this movie, I’m telling you you should watch it. It’s one of the most exemplary models of what a movie should be. The casting is great and the storyline and message behind it is deep. A definite must watch! I went from watching this on DVD to the Amazon app and now on 4K Blu-ray, each time with visual improvement on the video quality. It’s stunning and well worth the purchase!

1994 was a banner year for American mainstream cinema (Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump) and this adaptation from a relatively obscure Stephen King novella. The story of hope and redemption is nearly three decades old now and has never looked or sounded better than in this 4K UHD presentation. Even on a vintage VHS pan and scan tape the heart of this timeless tale could still move a viewer but in this presentation the film is an immersive must see!

Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins star in Shawshank Redemption, now in glorious UHD 4K! They are both sentenced to Shawshank prison for tough crimes. Shawshank is the toughest prison run by a ruthless warden and his legion of officers. I recommend this movie, but it is not for younger viewers under 16 in my opinion. Severe language and prison violence.

All I can say is the Ending is one of the most satisfying ending in cinema history. That’s all I’m going to say. And the Steelbook is awesome and glossy too.

Sleek new cover picture, good 4k upgrade from blu ray. Purchased for $5 in store during Black Friday weekend.

Probably the best movie ever made. Worth it to rewatch.

The movie that didn't do so well on release due to sheer circumstance. Yet everyone who knows this film generally has nothing but good things to say about it. This really is a great film. I've watched it several times by the time I finally purchased it. I may not watch it as many times as other films, but it is one that I know I will come back to again in the future. It surely is a film that any film buff should have in their film library. If you haven't seen it, then go about seeing it already.

One of the best films of all time! (Top 5 in my personal list) Timeless moral and thematic lessons in this story. Great cast, acting, music score and location shooting areas! Great print and a TON of splendid extras including 3 spectacular documentaries on the making of the film and it`s impact on society and film history! Highly recommended.
