The 411 on The sims3 Ds.

As a Sims lover, I was thrilled to find out about the Sims3 coming to console. I have played The Sims for both PC and Nintendo. The Sims2 for PC, Nintendo and GBA. Finally I have played The Sims3 for PC. Unfortunately The Sims3 for my PC stopped working, however I was able to get an idea of the game. Now comparing PC to DS: The sims3 Pc version is rated T and the Ds is rated E. Therefore many things are limited on the Ds. *Examples: No death, No children, No ageing, No woohoo, Can not be affectionate with the same gender. Can not buy vehicles, Can not hire people to do house work. Can not create more than one character per neighborhood/household. Once you have chosen a lot/house you can not move to a different one. There are only one level houses. Loading screens are when switching between characters and houses to neighborhoods. When Sims go to work you have to wait. If needs are not met it results in Sim passing out Now that might sound just terrible but of course there are also many good things too! The graphics are okay, but are expected because it is a Ds game. You can build/customize a house; Create characters (skin tone includes blue, red, & green.) Meet other characters within the game (friend, enemy, lover, acquaintance.) *Examples: Have 1 roommate, Get married, Ask sim to leave their partner, Go on dates, Get divorce/kick sim out. Can have multiple lovers including a spouse could possibly be your boss/colleague. There are ghosts and a haunted house (you only see your sim walk in.) Can visit other Sims households (can not enter unless your close enough friends with them.) Can leave work as you please and receive paycheck (pay will only be time spent working.) Have many opportunities to win money. Gain skills like Charisma just by interacting with other Sims. The more you play the game the more you will unlock different things!!!!!!! I truly hope that my review has helped you make your decision for buying The Sims3 for Ds.

    Ok, but some flaws

Overall I thought the game was kinda fun, but it can get really boring. Compared to the computer game, it's graphics are much worse and it isn't as much fun because there aren't as many things to do. Basically all you can do is complete wishes to earn rewards to earn Karma, get friends and go to work. The Karmas are pretty easy to find and aren't as good as I had expected. The other sims are kinda interesting, but it really gets boring because after you get married, you can't have kids! Jobs are also rather boring because they're just gone for the whole day basically. The jobs that I've used so far have work hours from around 9-5 or so, so you don't even have much time to play with your sim since you can only have 2 sims in a household and all you can do is wait for your sim to come home from work. Also, there are loading screens from when you to the map view from your house or a lot.Overall it was an ok game, but I expected more.

I wanted to be able to play sims 3 on the go. I love the PC game since you can have generations. I was not expecting that there wouldn't be any generations at all. Your sim can only get married and focus on career which drains the gameplay since sims 2 and 3 is all about generations.

I mean the whole DS thing really is for 10 and under. I am in my 20s and a gamer on my spare time. I bought the DS so I can play Zelda, and Mario....these were fun, but still became bored quickly. I got excited, Finally, the real Sims Game for the DS...I have been saying it for the past two years!!! So I bought it and had it almost beat in three days, with my life goal, married, karma abilities...haha....I was rich, and realized that I could not have children....What???? So I sold the Game and the DS....took the money, and bought the pc one....save your money for the real pc game...it cost the same! So if you are 10 and Under...great game...but if you want all the fun stuff with the game, like have a baby and more….PC!! PS, I love, love, love the PC Version!!! ; )

    Exceptional DS Experience

Let me begin by saying that in my rating I listed each individual item as 4 but then gave an overall of 5 stars. My logic is that the challenge, storyline, graphics, and fun are all probably about 4 stars, but the fact that it is happening on a DS is really remarkable, hence the 5th star. I have played a number of DS games with some pushing the limits of the DS and others rather trivial games. Sims 3 does push the DS, probably doing just about as much as you could hope to find in a DS game. In other words, if you buy Sims 3 for your DS and are not pleased, then I seriously doubt any DS game or application will satisfy you. Before you play the game for the first time, clear your mind and do not compare it to what you find on your PC or game console. Compare it to the other things you enjoy on your DS. With that frame of mind, you will find Sims 3 an excellent companion to carry along in your pocket and break out when you find yourself with a little time to kill. Now, with that frame of mind I mentioned, you will realize that compared to the game console, it is really quite comparable in a number of areas. While other reviewers nail down the nuts and bolts of the game, I simply want to assure you that it is not a cheap spinoff to make a quick buck, but a well designed and thought out game worthy to be ranked among the best avilable for the DS. I enjoy it, my 7-year-old daughter enjoys it, and I well imagine you will as well.

    Got boring fast

Not detailed enough - very limited ways to customize SIM; limited career paths. VERY limited ways to upgrade house. Gets old fast - good for a quick diversion only- do not pay more than $10 for this.
