From the the first episode to the last i was just completely hooked. This show has amazing acting from all the cast and has violent and brutal but amazing scenes that you'd expect from a mafia show/movie. GREAT DEAL!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just happened to come across this while browsing online the other day, I wasn't looking for The Sopranos and never really thought about buying it. But when I seen the complete series on Blu-Ray was on sale for fifty bucks I had to have it! I was going to just order it online since shipping would have been free until I seen my local store had two sets in stock. Now the picture here doesn't show the Blu-Ray + Digital HD and it doesn't say anything about it in the description or title so I was not expecting it to include the digital code. I like having the digital copies with my movies/TV shows but it's not always a deal breaker and for the price of this set I was still happy with the price. Well, when I got to my local store I was very surprised and happy to see the "Blu-Ray + Digital HD" on the box and that made an already great deal even better! The box set is really nice and has a sturdy thick box that holds all the cases, seasons 1,2,3,4,5,6 pt.1,6 pt.2 and a slim case for the bonus disc and then has a slip cover that goes over that box so you don't see the Blu-ray cases which I think makes it look better but is kind of a pain to have to slide it off/on every time to get to the cases. Each Blu-ray case holds four discs except season 6 pt.2 since it only has three and of course the bonus disc is in a slim case by itself for a total of 28 Blu-ray discs and yes the bonus disc is a Blu-ray not a DVD. If I absolutely had to find something to complain about with this set it would be that for some reason the Blu-ray cases are not all the same style/brand. I'll explain, seasons 1,3,4 are in a darker color blue and more square type of case and seasons 2,5,6 are lighter colored and have rounder edges. Then, even though 1,3,4 cases look the same on the outside, 1&4 have the four discs on two trays, two discs per tray, while season 3 has one disc on the front, one tray for two discs and the fourth is on the back. I don't like this style b/c the front and back discs block the episode guide that is printed on the reverse side of the artwork so you can read it thru the case when you open it. So you have to remove disc one and four to be able to read what episodes/features are on each disc. Seasons 2,5,6 pt.1 are all in the same type of case and each have two trays that hold two discs each. Season 6 pt.2 only has three discs so it only has one tray for discs one and two and the third is on the back but all the info is on the inside front so you can read everything and don't have to remove the third disc. I actually would have preferred if they put the bonus disc in with season 6 pt.2 in a case with two trays instead of the bonus discs being in a slim case by itself. I hope all that made some sense, it's not a huge deal but it bugs me b/c of my OCD and everything has to match. You would think whoever put this set together would have used all the same brand/style of BR case. I will probably end up buying some empty BR cases and swapping them so they all match. Sorry for the long review but maybe someone will appreciate this info, if not oh well I just got 25 BB points ;)! So I guess I'll end my rev........

Perhaps wait for a UHD set, instead?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the best, or possibly the BEST, American TV show ever. The three stars I gave this set is not because I'm unhappy with the show itself, or the wealth of bonus features. It's because, I think and I hope, HBO will hopefully produce a 4K UHD set of the show in the future, so maybe it would be wise to hold off for now. Some of the earlier seasons could be better in the picture transfer, but it's not a big deal. If you want to buy it now, you won’t regret it.

The First Family of Crime in Dazzling HD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What's to say? It's "The Sopranos". The complete series. All 86 episodes. All the previous release's special features. And in high definition. What more should I have to tell you that will make you buy this set? Crime boss Tony Soprano's rise and fall and rerise is legendary, and now all 7 seasons (well, 6, but 6 was aired in two parts and is packaged as such) are presented in the perfect boxed set. All of the past special features and audio commentaries, as I said, are ported over to this set (special features are NOT in HD) and a bonus disc of features old (from the previous complete series set) and new are presented. But the topper for me is the packaging. As a rule, I HATE boxed sets. They come in packages that don't fit in on my shelf and have sub-standard disc storage (usually those terrible book/sleeve situations). But each season of "The Sopranos" is presented in a standard four-disc blue plastic storage case with new package art. Is it worth the money if you already have the DVD complete series? Well, I owned the DVD complete series and found the compression of the discs pathetic. And the packaging was a big book with those slide-in sleeves that scratched the heck out of my discs. So, yes, it IS worth the upgrade just for that matter alone. I will warn you, once you start sampling these episodes, you'll be stuck watching the entire series run.

SOPRANOS BLU BOXSET
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bubbling over with the kind of writing, performances, casting, cinematography, music, relevance and resonance any series would kill for, The Sopranos proved itself a revolutionary masterclass in original programming that lasted for six seasons and never once released its grip on its audience. Even today, some fifteen years after it debuted, The Sopranos remains one of the finest shows ever produced; a classic in every sense of the word that has as much power today as it ever did. HBO Home Entertainment's 28-disc Complete Series release doesn't quite live up to the show itself, but should still prove very tempting this holiday season. With a solid video presentation (not entirely free of flaws but satisfying nonetheless), an excellent DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround track, and an assortment of supplements (including 25 audio commentaries and, more importantly, three hours of all new HD retrospectives), fans will find their money has been well spent. Could there be more content? Sure. But the full series is available in high definition. The supplements are just the creamy filling in the cannoli.

Stop Waiting, Just BUY IT!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't think I could heap any more praise on The Sopranos than it has already received. Seriously though, at $50, this is a (fittingly) mobster-style steal! Ignore the reviews for the earlier editions of this set, which you might find on other sites like Amazon, that state that the packaging is flimsy and the discs aren't stored securely. Rest assured, this one comes with each season packaged in its own individual plastic Blu Ray case, each of which have several plastic inserts so that each disc is held on its own. If you've read this far into the review, you're wasting precious time that could be used to enjoy this LEGENDARY show! To sum it all up, this show has a reputation as a classic for a reason. Do yourself a favor and just buy it while its still so cheap...

Fun to watch all over again...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I watched this series on HBO when it first was on. Since then I have always wanted to own it. Now I do and I’m enjoying watching it again. After all this time I keep seeing things I either don’t remember or didn’t catch the first time. This show was well acted and still holds up. It’s a perfect and great addition to my DVD/Blu-ray collection and I definitely recommend getting this box set. Even if you didn’t catch it the first time. Two Thumbs Up!

Great product to add to the collection
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Went to the store to browse some movies and ended up finding the entire collection of the Sopranos on Blu-ray. I looked and looked for probably 10 minutes going to the tv show section the end caps of the aisle. Even asked if someone could track one down for me even though it said out of stock. I think I bugged 3 employees about the product I was looking for and they all were willing to help me track down the product I was looking for . But right before I went to the checkout stand I looked in a movie stand and found probably the last Blu-ray edition of the collection in the whole store. The employees were very helpful with helping me find other movies I was looking for and even suggested a few of their own personal favorites. 10/10 would recommend the product and the store! Plus I got the Soprano collection for $50 when it’s usally like $200 so that’s a Best Buy win!

Excellent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I very rarely give 5 star ratings but this product deserves it. If you're a fan of the show, it's worth buying. The only drawbacks I had were not with the product itself, 1 was Best Buy's fault, the 2nd was my fault. I was lucky enough to get the product while an employee was still putting spider wraps on and got this before he did. Best Buy always insists and ratcheting the wraps so tight that it essentially ruins the packaging on the product. As a collector, I would NEVER buy a product in the state Best Buy usually has them in. This is an unnecessary practice. Just tight enough to touch the packaging will suffice. No need to ruin the product. The second issue, there was a little too much glue on the "Ad" paper sleeve they put on the box. I peeled it off too fast and tore some paper off the box. Completely my fault but I'm letting people know so they don't do the same. Be careful! TL;DR - Go buy this, now.

Television at its Finest
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sopranos was such a great show. The storytelling really sucked you in and made you care about the characters and their interactions. I started a few seasons late but once I did I could not stop watching it and made sure I had HBO every time a new season started. I watched it "live" for like the last three seasons or so. I eventually bought all the seasons on DVD. Now that it is on blu ray, I had to double dip and you get the digital copy as well. Best Buy had it on sale for $49.99 so I jumped right on it. Truly a worthwhile upgrade if you are a fan of the Sopranos. Pick it up!!

Fantastic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't yet watched the whole box set, but I'm a Sopranos die-hard and have bought each complete series as they've come out. This makes purchase #4, and I am happy to make it. It has all of the previously released episodes and special features, plus one new one; ALL on Bluray, some for the first time. It also contains a digital code to download the entire series to any of the usual VOD sites (Vudu, Flixter), as well as a hard download to iTunes. My review is going to be for Best Buy, itself. The week this released, they had it on sale for $160, versus the $200 everyone else was charging. Great job on that Best Buy, especially for those of us who have already purchased this series so many times. Can't wait to dig in and see the improvements they've made for the newer format.

Among the top series of all time...
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While streaming and subscription services provide us with unlimited TV show options to watch, it should be met with a certain level of apprehension. These services can pull a show from their lineup at any given time. With that said, owning the physical product is still important for those “Greatest Shows of All Time” situations. The Sopranos most definitely fits the bill in this instance. It’s one of a handful of shows that I feel must be owned. This bluray package, especially at this price point, is a no brainer to own outright.

Oh, Madonn'... this show is great!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The SOPRANOS was hailed as one of the greatest shows ever made 20 years ago, and it still remains as such! It holds up beautifully well! It's great being able to revisit this classic in HD now with this Blu-ray release. And, for the $50 price tag that Best Buy had it for when I bought it, it was definitely too hard to refuse the double-dip. If you're a fan of the gangster genre in general, and of the late great James Gandolfini... GRAB IT! It's a great way to future proof this amazing series!

Highly recommended
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a fan of all things mafia related, I saw the original run of the Sopranos on HBO. It is generally acclaimed and if you have seen it, the box set does make the series justice. If you haven't and like good TV series, this is regarded as one of the best ever, so I highly recommended. As I'm watching it again, one thing that struck me is how well it has (or hasn't?) aged. It does come with the digital code (platform optional) and the box itself and cases are well put together, no cardboard slips here!

The greatest show in TV history.
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've always wanted to buy The Sopranos complete series. But I decided to hold out until it was on sale. When it went on sale, that's when I ordered the Blu-ray set online. Creator David Chase did such a marvelous job by creating a masterpiece. Now that I own it. I can experience the beloved Emmy -, Golden Globe - and Peabody Award - winning complete series as never before.

MUST OWN for any Sopranos fan!
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my ALL TIME FAVORITE SHOW, aside from Breaking Bad! This HBO complete series collection is perfect. The Blu-ray quality is excellent, the cases each feature a main character from the show, the digital copy is included, as well as a bonus disc! For anyone looking to own The Sopranos on physical format - this is what I would recommend to you.

Greatest tv show ever made, pretty good bluray
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you've never seen an episode of The Sopranos you have something to look forward to. This is in my opinion the greatest TV show ever made. It has it all and it is just a shame it had to end. The bluray version is not the best, but still good enough. Would of liked the version to out duel the DVD version, but it doesn't by much. If you have a chance to get the bluray version for not much more than DVD than buy it, otherwise you can't go wrong with the dvd version. Great buy!!

Best TV Show of All Time
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buying this was an absolute no-brainer. I've been a huge fan of the show from day one, but what really did it for me was the price point and the fact that it came with a digital download as well. I was able to get this for a fraction of what it would have cost to purchase these on iTunes. A great find for a great show at an excellent price.
