    I saw this when it came out in '65. Three years later, I took a study tour of Germany and Austria, and when we visited Salzburg, we went to the grounds of the Von Trapp home as seen in the movie. It's still a popular tourist attraction. This was BY FAR my mom's favorite movie; she could watch it over and over..... It had been a number of years since I watched it, so when I saw the 50th anniversary edition, I had to buy it. Very few films can do whet Sound of Music did: it brought several tears to my eyes. I found myself singing along with the songs. IF you want an UPLIFTING, SWEET flick, but also with some action and suspense (even though we know how it turns out), this is a GREAT WATCH!!!
