The movie is fantastic with clear sound and beautiful picture

This is such a timeless film. The music is amazing. I absolutely love the film and so does my family. I bought this as a gift and it is always welcomed to watch this movie again. The story and the music really is so darn good. The disc set was a blu ray disc and a digital copy, all went smoothly claiming it all, no complaints here.

Very interesting movie and it is very pleasing to watch.

My 6 year old daughter learned the Doe a Deer song at school and started asking where the song came from. I have always liked The Sound of Music and decided to snag the DVD when the anniversary edition rolled around. It has be beautifully remastered and the film still stands the test of time. It has some nice bonus features that I have enjoyed watching with my daughter. A true classic and I was thrilled to introduce it to the next generation.

Never watched this classic till now and enjoyed it very much.

Gotta love the musicals, my kid really enjoys watching them

I had been looking for this DVD once I heard it had been released. It was not to be found anywhere, and if you were to find one on the Internet, the price was astronomical. On a whim I was browsing movies in the store and came across it for an extremely reasonable price (thinking less than $20). So naturally I bought it and am not sorry. This is a very uplifting movie for the whole family and a great musical as well.

Julie Andrews does a wonderful job capturing the joy of singing, and it's one of the most heartfelt movies depicting the strength of familial ties overcoming oppression of the masses. I've loved this movie since I owned it on VHS and I bought it for a close friend, knowing that it is a movie that is necessary to pass on to others!

This is film one of the greatest musicals of all time

This Blue Ray was really great in a lot of ways compared to my older copy. The audio is top notch, the quality of the picture is superb. This comes with many extras, which I have not been able to watch all of, but the one about going back to Austria now 50 years later is really nice, and I'm sure the others will be also. All in all, a very good purchase and value, even if you already own a copy as I do.

I typically don't invest in purchasing many Blu-rays, but this movie is a classic that my family enjoys watching during the holiday season. It is so fun to watch this with the kids at a time and pace that works for us. Also, we have tickets to see the live musical in a few months and this will help build some excitement for that as well. Very happy with this purchase.

If you already have the 45th Anniversary edition of The Sound of Music, you're good. This is the exact same movie disc with the exact same transfer and extras. The only new addition is a second disc where Julie Andrews escorts you around Austria and revisits filming locations. If you don't have The Sound of Music or haven't seen it, go ahead and buy this one. You won't regret it!

I've watched this movie numerous times in non-blu-ray. Now having watched it in blu-ray, I would never want to watch it in any other format again. Blu-ray doesn't enhance all movies, but it did this one. The scenery popped so much, I thought I was watching a 3-D travel video of Austria! Invest in the blu-ray, and The Sound of Music will become a feast for the ears and the eyes!

First saw this movie when I was younger in the early 80's and gave me a love of music immediately. It takes me back to my youth, to a wonderful family movie, and a movie to easily get lost in and just smile. Everyone should be exposed to The Sound of Music once because that music will echo in your mind forever...I LOVE this movie!!! Must OWN, MUST WATCH!

The Sound of Music is a wonderful story that I can remember watching for the first time when I was younger. With this blu-ray, the scenes are crystal clear and the music is very dynamic! I am amazed at how much clearer things are on this disc. You would never be able to tell that this is a 50 year old classic movie. It is timeless and we watch it now with our children.

My son just audition for a local performance of The Sound of Music and wanted to watch the film to get familiar with his character. A beloved movie that I loved as a child and now my son can enjoy. It is a great family musical that has stood the test of time. A true classic that everyone should see at least once.
