This was the first movie I ever saw in a theatre. I was mesmerized then and it still mesmerizes me. I love this. Who would have guessed back then that Christopher Plummer could sing so well. And of course Julie Andrews is great. The music is fun and the kids did a great job in this movie. Based on a true story too. Great family entertainment.

Based on a true story, this is a timeless musical set in Austria in the latter 1930s as WW II looms on the horizon. A would-be nun is sent to be the governess for a stern Captain's children. There are fireworks as they clash and fall in love. Beautiful score.

The story of a stern aristocrat widower who is trying to raise seven children and goes through nearly as many governesses, until he meets Maria. A woman intent on becoming a nun, but has too much song and joy in her heart to do so, combined with the ability to stand up to the Captain. Ultimately, a song and fun filled movie... a classic!!!!!

Always loved the Sound of Music. I remember seeing when it first came out. Hard to believe that has been over 50 years ago. I have a VHS version, but wanted the long lasting Blu Ray. Quality is as good as can be expected. Love the movie still after all these years and plan on enjoying it many more years to come.

I hadn't visited "The Sound of Music" in years and was very impressed with the image and sound on the 50th anniversary Blu-ray. Can it have looked this good back in '65 at your average movie emporium? The bonus disc (a one-hour doc) is pretty good, but the main attraction is the film and all those catchy songs.

Fast shipping. Great price! Excellent movie with catchy songs during a troubling time of history. It’s viewpoint is from an upper crust family, who do not want to follow the scheme. Good for most kids above the age of 10. Easy (Brief) history lesson.

I have honestly been watching this film for most of my life! The story is great, the music is great, the setting and cinematography are spectacular! Even though it's about N*zis (sort of) it's one of my favorite, go-to, feel-good movies. I expect I will be watching it for years to come!!

My wife is a HUGE fan of SOM and I've always been lukewarm to it mainly because of hearing these songs throughout the years overandoverandoverand ...you catch my drift, I'm sure. Well, I'm here to say that the remastered version of this classic (yep, said classic) makes it very enjoyable on a 4K set and good stereo.

We purchased this DVD set primarily because we only had a VHS copy of this movie. We have always enjoyed it. However, we were particularly pleased to see the many bonus features that are included in this two-DVD set. They are professionally done and very interesting additions to the movie itself.

bought the first older DVD of the Sound of Music a long time ago, but had to add this new DVD to my collection. a friend arranged a blind date for me to meet my future husband to see this movie on January 1st 1966, movie has happy memories.....yo

Love and unrequited love, good and evil, etc. all wrapped into masterful lyrics and music. Julie Andrews firmly establishes herself in cinema history with her performance. I've watched this movie over 5 times in the last 30 years and each time I still get something new out of it! A must have in one's collection.

So happy to have this as part of my collection. I wanted to get this film on blu ray for a long time and it was well worth the wait. The crispness is amazing! One little quibble is that I wish there were a lot more extras. Other than that, I am happy and have been transported back to my childhood :-)

Saw this movie when it first came out back in 1965. I enjoyed this movie back then when I was just a little kid and I still enjoy watching it now as an adult. This is probably one of the best, if not the best, classic musical movie of all times. I am glad I bought this movie for my collection.

I've been looking for this movie for quite a while but have never been able to find it at a decent price within my budget, and was pleasantly surprised when I saw it here at Best Buy, with the digital copy included! Very happy with my purchase of the Sound of Music here.

Was looking to surprise my wife with a blue ray version of this classic her favorite movie. Surprising how this holds up with upscaling. Beautiful pic all with great sound. A must-have for The Sound of Music fans.

It was so nice to have the movie on DVD- our tape finally wore out! And what a quality difference. We even ordered some edelweiss seeds on line to try out in the summer. Always a great, uplifting movie.

The Sound of Music is one of my all time childhood favorites. The movie brings me back to those days. I found myself singing along to the tunes that everyone knows and loves. If you haven’t seen the movie yet you definitely should, as it’s one of the best made.

The Sound of Music is an all time classic that my wife and daughter love to watch over and over again. The bluray version is great and having it now with the UV version (digital copy) makes it accessible anytime anywhere. The one day price made it impossible not to purchase.

Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer are amazing in this film, and as a family we always enjoy watching this. The music and singing are beautiful, the cinematography is picturesque, and the movie itself is fun and enjoyable! I would highly recommend this!

I love this film. It was the first film I saw with Julie Andrews and she took my breath away. The Blu-Ray quality makes you feel like you are running through the hills and singing along with the Von Camp family. Speaking about singing along the disk includes the music machine sing-along.
