The humor is more dark (with plenty of unapologetic violence) than one would expect in with two traditionally light-hearted actresses starring the film. Most of the humor also won't appeal to the guys as there are a number of crude jokes from a female's perspective. The exaggeration is widespread and plot-line is completely unrealistic (but when did that stop most thriller/action movies), but it's a carefree mindless movie with always brilliant and novel acting by Kate McKinnon. Part of the "problem" with this movie is that our society still has not found a way to accept women as funny the way traditional crude humor is portrayed with male protagonists.

Enjoyable ride, start to finish. Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon had great chemistry and riffed well off each other. Some brilliant comedy and surprisingly well done action. I expected more comedy than action, but they really delivered on the action sequences. However, this film is R-rated for a reason, so if you dislike profanity, violence, or a little gore then I'd recommend that you steer clear of this film despite the great comedy and action. There is also some male nudity (however brief), which is why I dropped it down to four stars. The "joke" there felt forced and was just unnecessary.

Female leads in an Action Comedy mostly succeeds

We liked this spy comedy because it's headed up by one very funny lady (Kate McKinnon) and a steady side-kick (Mila Kunis) who holds her own rather well. This comedy succeeds as well as any male partner movie we've seen recently, but with less testosterone. That will be a problem for some folks. The action sequences are every bit as good and connect well with the comedy. Comedy: Kate delivers, relentlessly. There are some stretches of dullness, but the movie is consistently funny, because she's rarely not on screen. Action: No let down here. Although it's not a priority, it is used for comedic effect. Family night: Be careful here. I seem to recall some scenes that will create some cringe moments. The movie doesn't forget what it's supposed to deliver: Comedy and Action. We liked it enough to own it, and we will re-watch it.

I'm not a really big fan of Mila or Kate and this movie is definitely not for everyone. Yes it is funny in some parts, but what really got me was the "gore factor". Watching Mila cut a man's finger off to unlock his phone was a surprise. Scenes such as these are what grabbed my attention the most. I enjoyed this film and if you like comedy and some gore, you should give it a watch.

Could have Left out the Pink Panther Music that just for me took the Seriousness out of the Movie. But overall the Movie was Action Packet and I Especially Like the Russian I think Russian Girl who was the Assassin was my Favorite Part of the movie, she was so cool Acting. That's just my opinion and I know everybody has one :) Thanks for Reading, Tom13..

I saw the trailer for this movie and thought it would be entertaining. I'm Mila Kunis fan so anything I see her in is at least worth a look. Kate McKinnon on the other hand can be a bit over the top at times, so I was less sure of her impact. So, the time spent establishing the characters at the beginning was not really drawing me in and thus seemed a bit slow, and some of it seemed improbable. Once they got overseas however I basically forgot about my disappointment and started to enjoy the show, with some fun action and a few laughs. The ridiculousness of the situation sort of swept me along for the ride. In the end I felt it was work the time I spent watching and I enjoyed it enough to perhaps watch it again and share it with friends and family.

A very enjoyable and memorable movie. They packed action, comedy and drama in one box. The main actresses Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon did a good job and share an amazing chemistry. Kate is very funny here, especially compared to the ghostbusters remake. It's lighthearted and fast paced. I enjoyed it a lot.

This movie was a pleasant surprise. It reminded me a lot of SPY with Melissa McCarthy. The comedy was over the top, but it had some good action and the story was somewhat plausable. Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon are a great team and have good chemistry. All in all a good comedy / action movie.

I liked the movie and it did make me laugh, but it is rated R, so you need to make sure the kids aren't around when you watch the movie. I think it could have avoided the R rating and it would have still been funny, but it doesn't stop me from watching. Comedies are my favorite!

I saw this when I went to the store to redeem a coupon. I thought it looked good with all the stars in it, it should have been. However, upon getting 1/4 way thru, I was so annoyed with the one character, the blonde one, I wondered why I bought it. She was talking nonsense and ruining the movie with constant, useless, chatter. Whoever wrote the script could have done a better job, or at least, shut her character up if they weren't going to make sense. Sorry, but I think if I knew, I would have passed on the movie

This was a good deal on Black Friday. but I wouldn't shell out $25+ for it. Mila Kunis is always easy on the eyes and Kate is hilarious as always. This is worth owning on 4k for the better visuals and atmos soundtrack. If you're looking at blu-ray only, just rent it.

This movie was not what I thought it was going to be. I was thinking it was going to be one joke after another with just a little action to it. Much to my surprise there was a lot of action in it. I enjoyed this movie. But not one for the kids.

Silly, campy fun with lots of physical comedy and the kind of humor you'd expect from a movie that stars Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon. Probably best watched with friends that you've shared some adventures with and while a bit tipsy. LOL

Saw this with friends in an advance screening not knowing what to expect. It exceeded all of our expectations. It was a fun girls night out movie with action, comedy, and a twist (not really the hardest to guess but still fun)

This is definitely not a family movie, they show junk and stuff so it’s weird. The movie jumps a lot from flashbacks to what’s currently happening, might be confusin to some. It’s funny at times but overall it’s a bit weird

    An average spy comedy

Following in the footsteps of "Spy", "The Heat", and "Hot Pursuit", The Spy That Dumped Me spoofs spy thrillers and puts its main characters in a pinch to finish a secret mission. There are some laughs to be had but the movie seems to struggle to decide whether it wants to be a comedy more or a serious empowerment film. Kate Mckinnon is talented as always but even she can't ultimately save this rather average script. While not abjectly bad, TSWDM is an average entry in the genre. Fans may like it but the returns for others may be small.

I was surprised by this movie! The trailers for it didn’t really capture what the movie is. It’s a funny comedy with blood, rather than a sappy love story that I was expecting. It’s worth the pick up for some laughs.
