Great 80's horror and Terry O' Quinn is so sick and twisted!

This is such a great film. They don't make them like this anymore. Excellent acting from Terry O' quinn as always! he really carries the film.

Pretty well acted and good production values. The teenage daughter is pretty hot too.

Terry O'quinn can play a creepy charecter, he proved that with this horror classic, the whole cast does a nice job, Joe Ruben, well known now for suspense thriller classics like Sleeping w/the Enemy, and one of my personal favorites-the Good Son. With this film, Terry can go from family man to psychotic in a split second, very convincing in both traits. My only suggestion is watch this before you see the remake, and try not to compare the two, although I know it's hard not to do that, with most remakes/sequels.

Step father 1, 2 & 3 are great you watch one & cant wait to see the next one, must see all the 3. Now the Remake?......not the same i think its another movie called stepfather also, completely different but was ok i give the remake fair............

A fine fine fine 1987 film that has taken SO LONG to get on DVD. Not a gore film by any means but this is TOP NOTCH SUSPENSE and a real life storyline that delivers that goods!

I have The Stepfather on DVD. The Stepfather is my favorite Terry O'Quinn movie. In The Stepfather I liked Scary Jerry, Stephanie, Stephanie's dog, Susan, Stephanie's friend Karen, Stephanie's friend Paul and Stephanie's Dr.

finally a long waited dvd release of the classic 1987 film, very creepy and scary, Jill scoelen is fantastic

This is another good 80s horror movie that was remade recently but the original holds up.
