The Strangers: Prey at Night is a surprisingly effective film that overcomes a slow, uninteresting opening act with an intensive, no-holding-back series of violent events. The killers are frightening, silent machines of mayhem, which allows the emphasis to remain on the grotesque violence. It's very atmospheric and smartly scored, too. Don't give up during the first act. The second and third act payoffs are well worth the wait. Universal's Blu-ray is fine, featuring solid enough video under the movie's overwhelming dark constraints, excellent audio, and a handful or throwaway extras. Recommended.

If you enjoyed the original The Strangers, you'll enjoy this one. It has the edge of your seat suspense and occasional jump scares like the original. This also has a bit of nostalgia as well with classic elements of the slashers of 80s. Genuinely creepy!

Prey at Night is a decent follow up to The Strangers. I adored the first film and it would have been nice to a sequel well before now. Some characters make the customary dumb decisions but the 3 strangers have a much bigger playground to do their damage. I will never listen to Total Eclipse of the Heart the same way again.

It’s terrible. The movie itself is a mess. However, it is really funny to watch. And I know horror movies aren’t supposed to necessarily be funny but the entire plot line, the over dramatic acting and just the sheer humanity of the antagonists are hilarious.

Decent horror movie. Felt like a throwback to the 80s

A fun throw back to 80s slasher movies. Not perfect, but way better than I expected from a decade delayed sequel. Some stupid character choices, but that was always part of slashers. The use of soundtrack and some great set pieces make up for the short comings.

The original film is one of my favorites of its time as a great exercise in suspense. This film is not as good, but is still quite entertaining on its own. There are some great set pieces here and some decent scares. I enjoyed this more than I expected to.

This sequel is much more of a fun thrill ride than the dark bleak original. Some people will be frustrated by that but I think it works for the most part. Now we have a dark terrifying first chapter and a fun 80s inspired thrill ride sequel. Best of both.

I think this movie turned out better then I was originally expecting. It follows close to how the first movie was like, except the setting is in a RV Park like community. It was definitely worth it to me to purchase this movie. I’ve watched it 3 timessince I originally bought it. It is actually pretty good. If you liked how the first one turned out then I would suspect that you would more then likely enjoy this new installment to The Strangers movies.

I thought I would blind buy this movie on the strength of the first film, and the 80s style I saw in the trailers. This proved to be one of those times when a blind buy was totally worth it. I have watched this movie about 5 times in the month ince I bought it, and that never happens for me. It’s rather short (less than 90min—unheard of these days), but makes repeat viewings easy and fun.

Obviously, it is not as good as the first one, but it is still a good movie. It is a bit more violent as well. If you liked the original, I think you will definitely like this one. It is worth checking out.

Ok guy's and gal's, get ready for Halloween with this one! If you saw the first film, you pretty much know what to expect in this one. The suspense is the same, the creepiness is the same, but the kills are higher, and the gore is bloodier. The acting in this one is superb, and believable. If you want to give yourself some scares before Halloween, pick this baby up!

Didn't watch the first one so I don't know if it would have been more enjoyable. Movie was ok. What made the movie worth a watch is the 80's music that played throughout the violence and horror scenes.

Obviously, it's not as good as the first one, but it is still pretty cool. It's a bit more violent as well. If you liked the first one, I think you'll definitely like this one. Worth checking out!

The original The Strangers got going quickly. This one takes about 40 minutes. Once it gets going, it becomes a worthy sequel. Not as good as the first but we'll worth watching.

For those that like horror, this is right up your alley. This movie is interese and becase of that it can be scarier that most movies in this genre.

Excellent take on the genre of quiet killers. Slow suspense with a score to back it. Had my laughing out loud at the kills which iswhat horror is all about! An axe being dragged on pavement from ground shot may scare some but it just makes me laugh in anticipation of the hunt!

The original Strangers film was a benchmark in the modern home invasion genre, Prey at Night is a worthy sequel with some great moments!

The first Strangers is one of my favorite horror films. This is a very good sequel that changes things up just enough to make it different.

It was a good movie didn't have the same feel of dread as the first and lost alot of the suspense but still worth owning and a good movie.
