If you are buying this it is probably because you watched it as a kid. Since it’s only the DVD version it’s safe to say you might not care much about Blu-Ray and/or a bunch of special features. More than likely you only had the VHS version and it’s finally out of the fault so you can get it on DVD! I’m not one to get into all the special features so this does exactly what I want, allows me to watch a movie I enjoyed in my youth, and be able to have my children do the same.

I have the original DVD release of this for years. Amazing how much better this looks on blu-ray and all the great extras. I bought it as much for the kids as myself (having daughters, this isn't exactly their up of tea). To get a package that includes a blu-ray, dvd and digital download of a Disney classic for this price, I had no choice but to bite and I am so glad I did.

The video and audio quality is really, really lacking for a blu ray release at a time when 4K is becoming passé. For a 50th anniversary edition, it has a total lack of meaningful features or meaningful remastering. If you like the movie, get the movie, and since it's a "50th Anniversary Edition" of a less than top tier Disney Classic I wouldn't anticipate a double dip in the immediate future, just disappointing when compared with the high quality releases Disney has had this year, like The Little Mermaid's excellent 4K release.

I purchased this recently as we're trying to complete our Disney collection. Watching it as a family my wife and I were both surprised by how much we enjoyed and remembered this movie growing up. It is one of the greats and my 5 year old really enjoyed it. Funny how this Merlin is the genesis for many of the wizard tropes he sees throughout culture now.

This Disney classic is great fun for all the family. The old style of hand-drawn animation actually enhances the fun flavor of the movie. My grandkids were laughing heartily as they watched it today, sometimes even rolling on the floor. Return to a time when wizardry wasn't dark but entertaining. And the images are sharp and clear. Enjoy!

My kids loved this, and I loved sharing this classic with them, the bonus for me was the ability to download a digital copy to my itunes. I had issues loading the code accidentally loaded it to the wrong app, used the tech support they issued me a new code and i was up and running with a new code in no time. Great support!

I bought this Disney film to replace one I lost and to increase my Disney collection. There is nothing spectacular about the Blu-ray, though it is an improvement over the DVD with a sharper, more defined picture. Overall I recommend it if you still have the DVD version as it is a better picture.

I watched this growing up and never forgot the feeling I got from watching it because it was about a child's struggle to find his identity and who he was created to be. Something all kids can relate to. Watched it with my children the other night and they loved it. Definitely one of the great classics!

I'm seeing people online saying the transfer here is terrible I can't find really a bad thing to say about this transfer. It appears true to the original film. Color pops and the details of the pencil drawings show up in HD nicely. A very enjoyable movie on a very enjoyable Blu-ray. Recommended!

Superb Sound and Picture Quality

It's always difficult to judge the picture quality of an old movie upscaled for a Blu-ray release, but Disney got this one right. The colors are sharp, vibrant and lively. More importantly, however, is the fact that the sound quality is the best it's ever been for this movie.

It seems Disney has been slow to put their older movies on digital. Could be that they know once people have it in digital form, they are less likely to buy it on 4k when they make the move. Either way, I'm glad this childhood classic is finally digital so the kids can watch it on the go.

I don't know why Disney Sword in the Stone isn't more popular. It's a great fantasy adventure with memorable characters, and generally well-drawn. This Blu-ray combo pack has some great behind-the-scenes features, plus two bonus classic Disney cartoons. Definitely worth (re)discovering.

I must admit I’ve seen just about every incarnation of the Arthurian legend told. Yet this movie still holds a special place in my heart. Not only do we get to see a young Arthur turdored by Merlin but we also learn the lessons along with him. Merlin also learns many lessons too. This film is most definitely an animated classic and at $9 for a dvd, blu ray and digital copy version I just couldn’t say no.

I don't buy every Disney movie, but this one feels like it should be included as a "must have classic". I loved this as a kid and bought it for mine to watch.
Including the digital copy makes or breaks a purchase for me these days so you can take them anywhere.

My four years old grandson absolutely loves this movie. I love hearing him laugh at the silly actions going on. Not a lot of violence which is way too prevalent in kids movies today. Highly recommend.

I remember this as a kid. I wanted to see my son's reaction to the movie and see if he'd enjoy it as much as I did growing up. I thought the story and graphics would lose his interest, but I have to admit this classic was a hit. My son has actually asked to watch it several times!

This may be a 50 year old film but I feel that it really stands up to the test of time like many great Disney films. If you have not seen this one yet I would grab it and add it to your collection before Disney squirrels it away into their vault once again.

I love these O.G Disney movies! I def prefer these animations better than the live ones they’ve been trying to reinvent. I bought these formats at a great price too. I def recommend!
