This is one of the better Studio Ghibli movies. The story is one of wanting to feel emotions of humans yet bravery in how the princess must return to her moon world. While not as visually stunning as other Studio Ghibli movies, it's simplicity in animation does not detract from the movie's message.

Done in old style animation, if you like the retro anime that began the large interest into japan's culture, this will be a good addition to anyone's collection. I dont think this is right for small children due to the themes presented. I would not recommend this as a first entrance to anime, but if you regularly watch anime, this is good. Not their best film, but definitely better than some. A good rule of thumb is Ghibli doesn't throw out garbage.

Another classic from Studio Ghibli. A sad story of another life form given a chance to live a human life and experience emotion. Her adopted father is blinded by ambition and his desire to achieve social standing.

this is an excellent movie and the quality of the audio and video is excellent. most important of all is that you get an excellent literal subtitle translation, which is something Disney has unfortunately decided against this and instead just gives us a subtitle of the english language version.

Studio Ghibli has still got it. Princess Kaguya combines beautiful visuals with a wonderful score and brilliant writing. Any anime fan should add this touching movie, rich in Japanese tradition and folklore, to their collection.

As with most of their films, Studio Ghibli finds a way to dazzle us with the worlds and stories they create. This is defintely a film to own if you're a fan of the rest of their catalouge of films. Not your average animation film, this is a film to remember!

I am a huge fan of Ghibli films, although the art style did not initially attract me to the movie I am glad I gave into watching it. The story is just what you'd expect from Ghibli, and although not drawn in the traditional Ghibli style, the art is gorgeous.

A uniquely animated film from Studio Ghibli. It tries to capture movement loosely to great effect. While not as tightly animated as something like the studio's The Wind Rises, it has its own charms even though it is probably geared more toward a younger audience. Still interesting to see an old folk tale from a different culture than my own brought to life in this unique manner.

Truly one of a kind in its story & in its art. Many anime share a similar depiction of how people are drawn, but this anime is visually unique in every way. I love this film.

This movie can put me to sleep or does it just allow me to hit the reverie vibe that I so enjoy. The song towards the end about Life is awesome. This movie has many layers to it and appeals to a wide audience. I enjoyed this and was happy to have seen it at the movies!

This is an excellent animated movie from Studio Ghibli. A very unique animation style where every frame looks like a water color painting. The addition of a strong story makes this a movie that belongs in any respectable collection.

As someone who grew up being read this story, I can say this interpreted very well and added in elements that were new, but didn't detract from the original story at all.

I'm a big fan of Studio Ghibli, and The Tale of Princess Kaguya tells a great story with stylish animation. One of the Studio's lesser known films.

Being a princess is difficult but learning to be human is far more challenging--kindness ranks as a huge plus. The acting is superb and surprisingly human and the princess will captivate your senses.

The Tale of Princess Kaguya is a sweet tale of discovering who we are, and thematically showing how trying to meet the expectations of others is not in our best interest. I enjoyed it thoroughly

The animation is not to my liking although I realize its intended to imitate classic Japanese art style. I prefer the usual Ghibli style, but aside from that its a well done telling of a classic Japanese tale. Simple and elegant, if you appreciate gradually paced sentimental films you will probably like it.

The story and animation are all wonderfully executed. The different art style with its brushes look really pops as you watch this film. In addition, this re-telling of an old Japanese story is so well told that you will lose yourself within minutes. Don't miss this film or you will regret it.

Even compared to the other studio ghibli movies this stands out to me the most because of it’s beautiful animation and art style.

As per usual the quality and sound of this Blu-ray was outstanding. In summation, A magical Japanese folktale about growing up, parenting, and the mistakes we all make in upbringing.

This Japanese fairytale is an engaging story. Little Bamboo must leave the life she loves to please her parents. She doesn't give in easily though. A magical story with beautiful animation.
